AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I sense the Dogs will too.Too much for me.... I'd rather swap our Pick 7 for their Pick 17 which would be lost on Croft/FS bid and give them our 2nd round next year.
They get 2 picks (7 & 11) under Croft' bid.
In the value index. It's 600pts from this year and another 700 pts next year. Equal to a pick 9 but not the same i know.
Allows us to enter '24 with Bailey Smith Pick 17 Pick 37 (port) Pick 80 & keep our 1st rounder in '24.
Bit of a pipe dream... But hey... we are all here to speculate.
North will almost definitely get pick 2 for McKay and that will be a disgrace but the way the system works.
Better not get gifted Sanders on top of that.
I think it's about right. They'll ask for an extra pick, we'll ask for a pick back. Dunno what happens. Is our top 10 pick too much to give up for Bailey Smith? You’d think Dogs take that deal given he’s a chance to go for much much less at the end of next season
I think both clubs would comfortably mount an argument that it's a good deal.Is our top 10 pick too much to give up for Bailey Smith? You’d think Dogs take that deal given he’s a chance to go for much much less at the end of next season
Didn't work out like that with TKHearing the same. Will be here sooner or later.
Scenario maybe coming up is... They either sell at a 20% discount this year or get pennies on the dollar next year.
Hi Guys, I haven't really posted anything on your forum yet but it looks like you're going to end up with a top 10 pick.
I have a ton of footage of all the top prospects, and at least something on most of the deeper guys. Let me know if there's anyone in particular that you'd like to see more of.
A few performances from the tier 1 prospects from the weekend:
I like your thinking but two mids with Guthrie being the third "recruit" might be overkill unless we really don't want to give Clark or Knevitt (and maybe even Bruhn) a chance at all, or Dangerfield is a 75/25 HFF/mid. But at least in theory we'd have Parish, Smith, Clark, Bruhn, Holmes and Knevitt to build a long term midfield with.Assuming we rate Smith (which clearly we do if we are apparently in talks) then I'm sure we'd trade our 1st rounder for him if that was the deal offered.
Dogs may try to get more... It all really depends on what the vibes are behind the scenes with him and the dogs.
Do they really really want him or are they happy enough to move him on?
Time will tell... but I'd say that our R1 will just be a pick or two late to snag one of the real top-bracket kids this year so we'd trade it for him imo.
I would not be loving trading more than this years R1 though.
If we do snag Smith IMO we might as well go extra hard at Parish as a FA (maybe even Grundy) and really have another crack at a flag before Hawkins, Danger etc give it away.
Smith, Parish and Guthrie added to the midfield next year with the hopefully natural improvement from Holmes/Bruhn + with a ruck that can actually tap it to their advantage would surely have us as a chance... especially with missing finals and having a good long preseason.
I have more than 10 videos of each, it would get a bit spammy to post all of them so I'll keep it reasonable. You are my hero
Mckercher, wizard, Curtin, Sanders sign me up
Pick 7 in the draft a few years backI think it's about right. They'll ask for an extra pick, we'll ask for a pick back. Dunno what happens.
On talent and player quality alone, pick 10 or whatever it’ll be after bids is a steal for him.Is our top 10 pick too much to give up for Bailey Smith? You’d think Dogs take that deal given he’s a chance to go for much much less at the end of next season
We did.Didn't with our like that with TK
I think if he doesn't go this year he may outlast Bevo and/or stay getting played more inside like he wants. Then he doesn't leave
Wait... You don't have a crack in your rear end? Think I'd better get along to my GPAnd left a gaping big crack in our rear end when he missed that chunk of footy

The reason you build a long-term midfield is to hopefully have a chance at winning a flag with it.I like your thinking but two mids with Guthrie being the third "recruit" might be overkill unless we really don't want to give Clark or Knevitt (and maybe even Bruhn) a chance at all, or Dangerfield is a 75/25 HFF/mid. I just want to win flags... Parish and Smith would improve our chances dramatically next year before some guys who can't be replaced are goners.
If that means Bruhn or Knevitt need to take a back seat for a year then I'm all good with it.
It's the old Benny Cousins problem isn't it?On talent and player quality alone, pick 10 or whatever it’ll be after bids is a steal for him.
The main question is going to be his mental durability, and cultural fit.
Doesn’t seem like a bad person or anything like that, just someone who burns himself out pretty hard and doesn’t have great coping mechanisms.
Gotta get the boy home!!If he did want to come down I'd be happy to see our 1st go for the Full Bailey Smith Experience.
Not a hope... he'll be right in the Weagles sights at #2Curtin Please
Like my Mrs?? shopping online?? lolIt's the old Benny Cousins problem isn't it?
Trains harder than anybody, but you need a release from that, and when that release can't be food or alcohol, it leads to.....you know what.
More like Nth at pick 2 compo. Not a hope... he'll be right in the Weagles sights at #2
