Ask and we'll try our best to assist - so here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

As normal, would like to acknowledge & thank Lore for creating this, keeping it up to date and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft

I'll also sticky this post to ensure it's easily accessible for discussion of our hypothetical trader

Also,

Needs to improve his athleticism if he’s to make it.
He’s slow and lacks acceleration and has the turning circle of the QEII.
He’s a good mark and can roost a ball but that’s not enough to make it in the AFL.
Another thing is when he’s having an ordinary game he’s MIA. Had quite a few games this year where he had 5 possies or less.
How does this report match up against Hawkins early days?

Im still not 100% sure Smith is coming to us, for all we know it could still be Hawthorn, they are an attractive proposition given their age and form the back half of the season, also sounds like Dogs are going to ask the world so watch this space
How do Hawks bring in Barass, Battle and Smith?

With hawthorn obviously not caring about players nominating them right now, I wonder if Baz has already told us he wants to come here but we have told him to hold off saying anything official.

I don't think we would guarantee him that we would do whatever it takes to get him i.e two first round picks so I think he will keep his options open, at least publically. Battle is a different kettle of fish as he is a free agent and Hawks don't have to trade for him.

Wouldn’t read into it, if it was Hawthorn, he would have said so. Cats firmly in box seat. Dogs can ask for the world, but you can’t call him an “immense talent” when you had him on a flank. Is also out of contract, and coming off an ACL. Dogs have absolutely no leverage outside of forcing him to sit out a year, which, given his public mental health battles isn’t an option the afl or aflpa would let happen. Our first this year seems about right.

Do the Hawks have the currency to bring in both Barrass AND Smith this off-season? Barrass has already publically spoken about going to the Hawks, and you think he wouldn't do that unless the Hawks have committed to making the deal happen. So probably leaves them their F1 (and other picks)...but with their trajectory this year, you wouldn't think it's going to be a top 10 pick, either. So in terms of trade currency, they probably have less than we do.

Im just being cautious, we have been shoe-ins to get players before and then at the last minute been shafted so dont wanna get ahead of myself.

No need to be IMO.

We get him and awesome (as long as we don't overpay)

We don't, and it's even more capital for Butters, Reid, Cadman or whoever else the club have in mind at some point down the line.

The thing with the GFC is he should be the one begging to come here...not the other way around.

Leave that for the desperate minnows.

I agree.

Random question and way too early for it to be a thing.

Which club would pick him up in the draft before our R1 on draft night?

was just about to post the some link on here be interesting if he nominates you guys as a club of choice or just asks to be traded and names no club.
Yeah didn’t nominate any club. Bloody good vibes hawks and their form might sway him. Hopefully cats can get him.

I don’t know Hawkins made quite a career with pretty much the same attributes
