Ask and we'll try our best to assist - so here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

As normal, would like to acknowledge & thank Lore for creating this, keeping it up to date and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft

I'll also sticky this post to ensure it's easily accessible for discussion of our hypothetical trader

Also,

Disappointed to see Foster gone. I only watched him play once, but thought he showed heaps of potential in that game. Guessing I may have simply caught one of his better performances.

Pretty interested to see Peatling's name floated though - I'd be all over that like a rash. He was super impressive in the second half of the year in the GWS games I watched.
I thought he was due to sign on with someone (nit us)?

Otherwise yeah I'd be keen

That's usually reported along with the delistings, isn't it?

Hope Foster gets another crack.
Me too, but the reality is that he looked like he'd gone backwards this year.

None of the others are a shock. If you're not in the AFL side any age after your mid-20s, you aren't staying. Willis hasn't been consistent enough.

So…. Do we assume Bailey will be taking #3 for next year or am I being a little presumptuous? Very sorry to see the end of Parf and Rohan. Both provided plenty of entertainment in their time at the cats. Both maligned but I think both also made the most of their abilities and finish up as Premiership players. Congrats to them both.
I was thinking he’d take 23 ala Jordan, Lebron, Warne, Doug Wade..

Stanley was reasonably good through the second half of the season, but is allegedly playing with a degenerative knee isn't he?

Duncan just looks old now, and whilst I understand the need to control the exit of our seasoned players we'll be in trouble if he plays many games next year.

I totally agree, but thinking the club will be happy to not have another 500 games of experience depart at seasons end on top of the 988 games we're already losing

If they're regular players next year, then we're potentially in trouble but they will have value in terms of working with the next gen

So, we're now up to 6 off the senior list:
  • Hawkins (359) & Tuohy (288), retired
  • Foster (0), Parfitt (130), Rohan (204) & Willis (0), delisted

3 off the rookie list:
  • Hardie (0), Jeka (7) & Murdoch (0), delisted

That's currently 988 games of experience off the list
We started the season with 3,900 games experience, added 575 over the year to get to 4,475. Losing 988 we now have 3,487 games experience.

North in 2016 ended the season with 4,500 and went into 2017 with 3,072.

Delisting Duncan, Stanley, and Bews would result in another 677 games lost, bringing us to 2,810. Adding Martin and Smith gets us to 3,064 going into next year.

This numbers are remarkably close. They lost an EF, we lost a PF. Eesh

It is a deep draft maybe we are confident of getting better players at the back end and middle than what we already have. No standouts but some of the mid rangers seem to be close to the quality of top 15 players.

It's interesting because one report said that Peatling was meeting with Vic clubs yesterday - normally they say Melbourne clubs unless we're also involved
