2024 Free Agency Period​

The AFL introduced free agency at the end of the 2012 season, giving players another vehicle where they can transfer from one club to another. Free agency is a common form of player movement in major football and sporting codes around the world.

Free Agency Opens: Friday October 4 at 9.00am
Free Agency Closes: Friday October 11 at 5.00pm

Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period​

Trade Period Opens: Monday October 7 at 9.00am
Trade Period Closes: Wednesday October 16 at 7.30pm

I’m not sure if he had nominated or not, but O Henry was sitting with cats players in the cats section on GF day 22. That’s probably worse.

I know the trade isn’t officially done, but either way he’s not playing for the dogs next season.

It feels like Butters may be waiting to see what happens with Kenny before deciding what he wants to do.

I don't think he (Kenny) has anything to do with what direction he (Zak) leads TBH.

Yep that is correct JJ on the Bailey Smith stuff!!
It was indeed a done deal apparently months ago... according to my "friend".
When his mate the landscaper had sold his property to BS.
It was indeed stamped DONE DEAL for me at least.
The same bloke, my "friend" in the same conversation mentioned both A. Brayshaw and Z.Butters.
"Butters is on his way home". He's just about to purchase a nice piece of farmland close by.

I wouldn't hold high hopes for TDK.
Word is that he's headed NORTH... most likely with his brother IMO.

Botanical Gardens Melbourne. I've got someone tailing his every move.

Spent an hour sitting down on a picnic blanket reading what appeared to be a contract. Followed that with a walk through some ornate garden displays - helped an old lady cross the road - did some Japanese origami - rescued an injured possum which had been attacked by a local restauranter - and then provided assistance to a young girl who was being stalked by a child enthusiast.

Any claims suggesting this bloke is not a good fit for our culture is poorly misguided. I'll keep everyone posted.

I am not ITK like you are.

But it seems logical to me that he would want to know what is happening with his coach (who he happens to be very close with and who also happens to have been under unreasonable pressure over the past 12 months).

If I were him it would be an influencing factor on my decision. Not the only factor, but definitely A factor.

I think he had made up his mind about 2 months ago that he was returning home (VIC)... As i understand it.

Let's not kid ourselves, it was really petulant and stupid.

Imagine if Gary Ablett had rocked up to a Gold Coast event in 2010 before he'd announced he was leaving. We'd be outraged.

Hence I have no issue with it. Should have traded him last year when he wanted out.
