Think back to your best 22 last week. Think about the worst player in that 22 or the last one picked.

You know; the one that everyone was calling for to be dropped after the game. The one whose blood everyone howls for whenever you have a loss.

Gibbs replaces that guy.

If it's only for a second round pick sure.

I'm thinking your first and second for Gibbs and our third.

Assuming you blokes finished runner-up this year it would be picks at 17 and 35 with 41 coming back your way.

McGovern is every chance to seek a trade to the Eagles and if he did it would be their first rounder coming back to you. So instead of 17 and 35, you would have 16 and 41, plus Gibbs.
Lol, you still want Dangerfield value for Gibbs.

Just as well AFC aren't stupid!

FFS a voice of reason.

You take that back!

True, but only once he's de-Carltoned ;)

Seriously we'd have to teach him our game style, and by this time next year you'd hope one of our draftees was taking the place of this so-called theoretical whipping boy who for purely illustrative reasons I'll call... Yakcam.

Im not sure who else we'd remove from the team for him, we're really well balanced

Yeah no thanks. Pick 40 odd (after Academy bids and free agency compo) doesn't really interest me.

You might get a set of jousting sticks for that.
Perhaps try the Port board, as they are more likely to pay ridiculous overs. ;)

Think in 10 years time when you play finals footy and the first rounder you could have got last year from us.

The Crows 2016 first rounder replaces that guy.

I believe that is what we offered last year. What makes you believe we'd offer the same this year?

Hmm, I'd probably only give up a first. A higher 2nd round pick means more points for Edwards at this stage, so we'll probably value it a bit more than usual.

Also, it wouldn't be Gibbs, 16 and 41 for 17 and 35, it'd be Gibbs, 16 and 41 for 17, 35 AND McGovern.

Once Dmac is swapped out for Brouch, it becomes apparent that Gibbs isn't a huge upgrade on the player that he replaces. Hampton it would be right now. Would probably still blow our first if we end up getting close though.

Malifice Im just curious. What is Cripps worth on the open market according to you?
I'd give a first and second I reckon. Later pick coming back. He's no Dangerfield.

It will get interesting towards the end of the year, just how much of an upgrade potentially Gibbs would be given the way our players have developed so far this season.

Or he replaces Kelly/Cheney/Doedee 7th defender... which is an upgrade, but not worth giving up a stack of picks for.

Would only give up what Carlton are asking for a gun like Cripps.

Gibbs is looking less appealing, 30 year old with maybe 2 seasons. Under some scenarios mentioned here,if McGovern does go we could bundle up our 1st round pick with the McGovern pick and negotiate an extremely low draft pick who has the potential to be a 10 year player. So many permutations.
Might I add I do not want McGovern to go for he has that X factor but we have to wait and see what transpires at seasons end.

Given our window. I would rather us try and get a player that would add immediate value to our current set up. So if we lose Gov, I would rather a 3 way deal with another Club to get a player in return. Just my opinion.

When we go for the rebuild eventually we will have to do a Hawthorn and really bottom out.

I dunno why McGovern would wanna leave such a successful team, Eagles are one of the oldest teams running around in the league currently, pretty sure they are 2nd to Hawthorn. We are one of the youngest, our games played and avg age from rd4 was on par with St. Kilda...that's how good we're going. Play with his brother? pfftt..not every year you get a chance to win a premiership in the AFL.

Because he is from WA

He would've but now we have our number one and our number two draft picks instead, you know the ones you missed out on so you could keep a player who no longer wants to be on your team and won't play any part in a flag push many years in he future.

I know he's from W.A and he wants to play with his brother lol but jeez...there's just not many guys that are willing to leave a team on the brink of success to go home.
Danger is one however he hasn't made that decision solely... it was for his wife and himself to make.
