being up in C .. i was not advised last time. However if the players stand is to become the deafcto opposition stand ..I may have to consider my options.

I'll try to find the email later, but I think it was going to be having the opposition cheer squad where our cheer squad currently sits, and Players Stand Section A being unreserved seating - guessing that would include opposition seating, casual ticket purchases etc

I do wonder about the seats on the top deack on the stmarys side . Near the score board.. Will their vision be impeeded by the roof on the other stand.

Just a question about the seats width. Just what width is allocated to each seat. Id think there is more room on a ecomonmy seat aircraft than I have in my seat is decent size bloke sits next to me. If I had a big guy sit to me , it would be untenable. I may as well just get and go to the bar ..or go home.

The opposition supporters should be going in the lower section ( moorabool side ) off the new stand so they can get straight off the train, also closer to town

Its clever how the architects have handled the different seating angles between the lower level of stage 5 and the Hickey stand. To the left of the vehicle access opening the pitch matches stage 5 and to the right it mirrors the Hickey stand.

Took a snap while on my run this morning, also did a lap of the entire precinct and had a sticky beak at the roof sections being built in the car parks, christ they are massive... As always you don't appreciate the size of the pieces until you are right next to it.

Anyway nothing ground breaking here probably, but taking shape nicely

what of the other side though. does that mess in as well. It looks like the roof of the adjoining stand(not sure of its name ..is it the brownlow). sticks out and over the new stand but is lower than the top seats creating a restricted viewing situation.

sure the scoreboard will be part of the issue but i suspect , if nothing changes so will the roof..

I think I read recently that it should be open over summer ie for Big Bash and A-League.

Round 1 at KP v Richmond for the melts please.

KP Trust CEO was on K-Rock before the game on Saturday stating they are working towards having the project completed, signed off etc. for the Big Bash game in December.

Here's another view of the stage 5/Brownlow stand connection and those problematic seats in the upper level... I guess we'll have to see the final build to know how big a problem visibility from up there will be.. hard to tell from ground level photos and the plans.
Perhaps the video screen will be moved? It doesn't seem to be shown in the plans...

Figured I'd put the issue to the test, and spent some time procrastinating the work I should actually be doing today

It's not an exact science, but it's pretty damn close. Found that there's 22 seats where the western boundary line will be completely blocked by the video screen (which is only drawn in some of the plans, not all), and about 16 seats which will require a little neck gymnastics to see around it at times. While this is certainly not a new problem for stadiums, and often not adressed (both the MCG and Marvel have hundreds of seats with this issue), it's not exactly ideal... especially if this stand is to be sold to members as year-round reserved seating.







Also note the blue dashed line, which shows the extent of the problem for the worst seat in the stand... only just has a full view of the southern goals.
