Thought that might've been the case. Ta, anyways. Your photos allowed me to tell the folks "here, around here are our new seats".That is up the back of the bottom level/standing room.
Top level was off limits during the Essendon game.
On the way out of the community series game there were KP trust staff everywhere down there (presumabely to make sure nobody went in the areas not cleared for occupation)... I'd imagine there'll be a similar setup this weekend, with staff to direct patrons up either stairwell.Only real issue I see initially is that the main entry take you into a foyer type area and especially the first game people will freeze and have no idea where to go from there, as you need to go up stairs either left or right.
Yeah I don't think it's a major issue, once people have been there before they'll know where to go and it will flow easily tbh.On the way out of the community series game there were KP trust staff everywhere down there (presumabely to make sure nobody went in the areas not cleared for occupation)... I would agree it's a little odd for the main entrance to work like that, the brownlow with a wide stairwell leading straight up works well. But I guess doing it the way they have allows for a much deeper concourse, which when you're in it feels a lot more open and light than that of the previous developments.
Players stand from a decade back is setup the same. You'd think a couple kids ones at least would help.Actually and in the mens toilets I saw the lack of kids urinals is annoying, they have catered heavily to the quick piss during breaks crowd with like 3/4 toilets and the rest just bays of urinals... But I didn't see and lower options for little kids which is a bit annoying
I mean it is not the be all and end all just a minor annoyance, but if my 4 year old wants to go to the toilet, which for him at present is a massive novelty doing it in different places so he went 3 times in 20 mins yesterday... means either waiting for a cubicle when potentially there aren't many or is high demand, or i have to lift him up and hold him which is what it is.. just not ideal, to be honest i just expected there would be at least 1 kids height 1 in there but if there was I couldn't find itPlayers stand from a decade back is setup the same. Same here, got a boy and a girl so cubicle wait-time is where life is at for some time still.means either waiting for a cubicle when potentially there aren't many or is high demand, or i have to lift him up and hold him which is what it is.. just not ideal, to be honest i just expected there would be at least 1 kids height 1 in there but if there was I couldn't find it
Wow love it.Little bit of an excercise in procrastination for a thursday evening... It has always annoyed me that there is only a nice round number given as the capacity (40,000) so I wondered if I could work out the exact number.
Used the ticketmaster map and got Illustrator to count all the dots for me (don't worry it wasn't a counting excercise, I'm not insane) and came up with these numbers:

Essentially this number includes all physical outdoor seats in the venue, inclding a few spots that aren't on the ticketmaster map. The only thing it doesn't include is indoor boxes, as no idea the capacities of these. And as far as I know, all function room tickets are sold with the provision for an outside seat as well, so those rooms shouldn't add to the realistic attendance figure on top of this number. Hence, i'm curious (and doubtful) as to whether there are ~1000 behind glass seats to bring the number up to 40k?
Realistically, doesn't matter one bit if its 39k or 40k, and the excitement of a finished product (finally) is still sky high. But I find it interesting how they've gotten to the quoted number, and will keep a keen eye out for a potentially fudged for marketing purposes 40,000 attendance figure on saturday night
Must admit that part was a bit of counting, though not hard when you know the number of rowsWow love it.
How did you count the seats in areas not on Ticketmaster? Like the second levels of the hickey and premiership stands?
I was hoping capacity was above 40, seeing as sell outs never really go above 90% at any stadiums due mostly to members. I think the highest likely to be achieved is probably 36,000 or so.
Nice work Tyzza. Hopefully we will get an accurate figure once everything is up and running for a few weeks.Little bit of an excercise in procrastination for a thursday evening... That was the 32,815 crowd. I checked the wayback machine (web.archive.org) and Austadiums says the capacity at the time was 34,074.Wasn’t there 32k in the 2013 qualifying final when the capacity was only listed as 30k?
