1. You cannot prove that they're running exactly simultaneously
2. It is still not 100% clear that that is the exact time in which Tarrant touches the ball

The vision is inconclusive. There is no evidence to suggest she was conclusively wrong, but none to suggest that she was conclusively right.

You can't hold the fact that the video review system is flawed against her though, she made an instant call on a line-ball decision, that's her job. The video reviewer could have called it back if it was conclusively wrong. Since there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that it was a clear goal it goes back to her and before the review system was implemented it would have gone to the lower score anyway, if none of the umpires knew how to call it.

Not holding it against her, just stating that people cannot say that she was 100% right, nor was she 100% wrong.

And because I know clicking on a link is too hard for some, here's the screencap from the relevant part of the video:

In the video, the two images are running simultaneously. Note the ball on the left of screen is still overlapping the line, while the right of screen clearly shows the Pies defender making contact with the ball.

If that isn't conclusive enough for the critics, nothing will be.

Edit: Just saw the response above. Jesus wept.
But the image on the left is shot from an angle, not directly over the line, so it proves nothing conclusive.

Having said that, good on her for her appointment on Saturday.

And as for those bogan neanderthal Collingwood supporters behind her, working themselves into a frenzy and getting stuck into her for her correct call for a video review of the above/below the knee incident, they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Though I suspect shame is an item a bit over their emotional price range.

I can't believe people think that Tarrant clearly touched the ball over the line. It's like you take the word of a brain dead commentator as gospel, when they make one of their typically clueless comments without even seeing a proper replay. You can't tell for sure, but the evidence is weighted in favour of her making the right decision.

Good on Chelsea, I was hoping she would get a game this week. I bet you she does just fine. People whining and moaning are quite sad individuals.

Agreed. If it was the other team scoring, pies fans would say she's the best at her job. Black and white blinkers on..
