That was an absolute shocking decision.... To call that a point was an obvious mistake... But to then give it no review...

Every man and his dog could see it was a goal... And a review would have come to tha conclusion.

To have an entire season ended over a goal umpiring mistake in a day and age with review technology.. Atrocious

I would be livid if i was an adelaide fan.

The AFL owes an apology for that.
Agree.

Should have been reviewed.

I thought it was a goal, however the AFL wont change the outcome of the game. Mistakes have been made in the past, where the AFL admits this, and the results of the match stand. While it's an easy way out for the AFL it doesnt make it any easier to accept
I agree but by way of making it up to Adelaide they can give them a PP at the start of the first round of the draft..nothing else will do😉

Have you got some definitive footage? Certainly none in this thread on a quick scroll through.
There is definative footage. The front and side angles.
The front angle shows it misses the post and the side view shows it 1 meter from the padding.

They said they can't get arc audio because there's more than 1 hit on the post, is that right? If yes how does that work? Seems corrupt as *
They said that initially. that the audio wouldn't be usable because of the hand slap.

But fox footy commentators clearly asked for the snicko anyway since it would show two spikes, with the broadcast lingering waiting for the footage to be provided.

ARC said no.

No reasons given.

You can also clearly see the slap of the hand has already well and truly happened, so there should be a second spike as the ball "hits"

Yet again, as per the end of the fox footy broadcast, ARC stated that they won't release the audio/snicko data

While my view is this was a goal I think it is the bottom hand of the player closest to camera that slaps the padding and that seems to be at the same time as the ball is in line with the post.

This will cause some massive headaches for the AFL.

Yeah the umpires have clearly made an error that most likely costed a team their season. The AFL usually find a way to spin it, but I don’t see what way they can spin this. Admitting to the mistake is the only way out from what I’m seeing.

Yeah shit decision

2 weeks in a row key games have gone the wrong way because of bad goal umpiring

His hand is already well and truly in contact with the post prior to the ball passing the post.
That spike would be "finished"
