Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

Doubt this happens. Doesn’t help GC with points in 2023, if anything leaves them with an even bigger hole.
GC don't have a problem with points this year. They need heaps, but they nearly have enough already and are likely to lose a player to two for more picks/points. They have a logistical battle with creating enough list vacancies to take their picks to the draft. But I'm sure they'll find a way around that through live trading. They won't waste pick 5 on points, they'll try and turn it into a player, either by trading for a gun, future high draft picks or getting ahead of the Walter bid.

The Dogs would jump at that but people need to look at the math. Here is basically a worst case scenario points wise.

GC have ample points and ample picks as it stands and the above is like worst case scenario bidding IMO. They could do some dodge deal with North and get Walters bid on at like pick 4 which brings the points requirement down to 3.7k and I'd almost guarantee you Read and the other NGA kid go later than this, most the academy bids always come in later than expected (cough Tom Green cough).

And I'm moving the entire value of pick 5 and the three 4ths here, I'm sure they can get some extra points while they are trading them into next year while they are at it.

GC by far get the most value trading a large amount of the value of pick 5 into next year
Yeah what happens with Flanders is the key.

WC might be interested in pick 5 for their 2024 1st

Haha man, a Hawks or Freo future 1st is about the best you can hope for. There is no chance WC offer up their future 1st

Yes it's unlikely, unless they think it gets them Curtain.

I've been reading that "What will it take for Pick 1" thread too much 🤣

I think WC are very optimistic on turning it around quicker than expected but not quick enough to risk pick 1 (and almost certainly a top 3 pick) for what could end up pick 7 on draft night haha

Dunno about your best offer. If I have a few more reds, I'll be putting our F1 on the table.

How about a live trade of our F1 and 1000 points for 5 and Suns F1?

I had ruled North out of it because trading a future 1st seems extremely risky, even with a Suns pick coming back. I'm definitely imagining some dodge deal with North and Suns somewhere along the line even if it's not all chips on the table like that one

We're supposedly chasing it but it would be difficult to get done though IMO. We'd need to trade a couple of players out and package a few picks up. Will be alot easier for a few other clubs to come up with a suitable deal.

Hopefully Dimma looks after us ;)

No chance.
They will want to split 5 down multiple times like brisbane did last year and you dont have picks in the 10-20 range for them.

I dont think they'll be doing that with the picks they already have (see my points post above)

I hope I am wrong, but i just get the feeling that it will be a Vic/Melbourne based club that is most going to part of this potential deal/trade

I don't believe it will be Carlton (one of the few Vic clubs you probably should rule out of it)

At a guess, one out of Bombers, Hawks, Kangaroos, Tigers Saints, Bulldogs.

Any Vic team currently in the flag window (or about to enter it) is unlikely.

I'd be happy sending 13, 16 & 35 for 5 & 46
Gives the suns 600 extra points and only one extra pick to carry into the draft

Even though I think Freo are a long shot, I dont think it would be state based. For mine, since they already have enough points, they only non-negotiable should be entering next year with an extra 1st. The rest will resolve around what happens with Flanders and what other deals they can work out

Isn't Sharp been rumoured to Freo for a while now (since last year ?)

I wonder if your future 1st and the Bulldogs 2nd rounder you have this yeat for the Suns pick 5 and Sharp (with later pick swaps between both teams) is possible ?

Sharp would be free regardless, he hasnt played a game this year. We also have a North based 2nd round pick, not Dogs

We wanted Sharp last year. and refused to pay a second for hI’m.

he has played zero games this year.
how much you reckon we’d pay for guy who hasn’t played?
