Gold Coast: The Battle Begins

Interesting. The AFL figure for Brisbane 2007 was 21,976 members & North 22,196. Both poor results. Now Brisbane is stating their figure is 23,072. They must have gone to the same school as AD.

They are aiming for 28,000 in 2008 which I would expect them to go close to achieving. This means we have to get up around there as well. Our target of 26,000 is too low.

Where are they claiming that?

Here's the figures for Brisbane's 2007 memberships that I have in front of me:

16,811 QLD regular reserved
1,904 QLD non-reserved
3,161 Vic seated
721 Vic non-seated

The bottom one isn't counted (it's like armchair supporter, I spose) in official tallies.

So that equals 21,876 (100 off your figure, and the figure on Wikipedia)

Even if you add 721 to your figure (which is probably accurate) it still only equates to 22,697. So this probably isn't how they've fudged their figures. Wonder how they did...
