What the * are they doing at selection
No ford and playing several potatoes instead - we really don’t help ourselves across every facet of the club.
Pink in / out
Phillips in/out
Laz in/out
The players don’t know if they’re coming or going
I just want to highlight that this process of young talent coming in and out of the side and not being able to settle is one of the major frustrations as to why form is fluctuating.

Greenwood pseudo chf in these conditions is the right idea however we need to stop just bombing it in otherwise once again they'll have a field day. Play how we played in the last qtr last week. We moved the ball quick but didn't bomb it in. We looked much better than what we have that qtr. The positive with these changes is at least they can all stick a tackle albeit sometimes Phillips misses them. Lazzaro probably the sub. No point having shiels as sub
Im not optimistic. As bizarre as it is to say, I think Pink was a notable part of that change in forward entries.

His omission is not as egregious as Ford's WTF, but it is also a headscratcher.

The team structure is all over the place. How can the game plan evolve when we don't have a proper structure up forward? And our only key forward also relief rucks ffs. It's like CCJ was plan A, B & C? Just criminally poor list management.

It might suit the conditions for this weeks game, but It's not going to be much different moving forward.

Stephenson still in is disgraceful.

I just don't understand how we are rewarding a 6 disposal game (2 of them turnovers)?!

The selection group needs a hard look at yourselves, not setting a great standard at all

Eddie Ford only played one game in the VFL returning from a hip complaint, didn't he? Kicked 2 goals, might have pulled up sore so we're giving him an extra week?
I watched a bit of the VFL as it was the televised game. I love Fordy but he was a bit quiet, he did kick a team lifter in the last quarter and looked like he might be the guy to get them across the line in a tight game.

I can see why they would give him one more week to get right. Hopefully he’s back next week

Changes mostly make sense. I wouldn't have been upset to see Pink stay but more smalls / mids in this weather make sense. Philips one of a few that need a run at it either way, conditions should suit him with low centre of gravity.

Here’s a little stat for you all.

Average speed in attack/defence is a statistic that measures the average speed of all players when you/the opposition has the ball.

In every single game this season our opposition has clocked a faster average speed in defence vs attack.

In every single game this season, we have clocked a slower average speed in defence vs attack.

In summary, we are downhill skiers who refuse to work as hard when the opposition have the ball vs when we have it.

I really don’t think individual selections have any great bearing on outcomes right now. It doesn’t matter who we select. The team overall needs to, somehow, develop a “mojo”, which will enable us to be competitive again. It will come - who knows when? Hard to see it happening this week, though. GC will, most likely, score eight in a row sometime in the first half.

When I least expect it, this could be the winning side.
Just need the four quarter effort and it will all click into place.

We need Jim Morrison on the coaching staff, can someone summon his ghost or find him or whatever

Battle of the kids this week...should give us a good idea of where we are at against a similar aged team.
