Thanks for all the well wishes, folks. The bloke turned himself in this morning. He's down visiting from Mt Gambier. Was involved in a few verbal barbs throughout the game with a bloke in an Essendon 18 Guernsey... just like me. Once he had enough liquid "courage", he came by and took a swing. Didn't take him long to realise that he had made a major mistake.

I'm not pressing charges. He clearly knows he really ****** up, so I'm not going to pursue it. I feel as though he's learnt his lesson.

EDIT: It's a criminal offence so the police are charging regardless, I'm just not adding to said charges.

Thanks again for all the well wishes guys, really means a lot. All the best for the upcoming finals guys, you're my bet to take it all.
That's about as good as we could have hoped for. It would help you move on as well not pressing further.

Utter dog act regardless of if he had words with someone, it does sound like he realised the extent of the stuff up though (which is rare with that kind of person). Hope your recovery goes as well as possible.

Huh? How is it back handed? If anything it's criticizing our defence.
It's been one of our "things" to have goals kicked on us in the closing seconds of each quarter. Have to say, it's quite refreshing to be the ones doing that to other teams! ;)

I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill. It was just a bit of an exuberant celebration, having kicked his 3rd goal in quick succession. He & Atkins have apparently known each other since they were 12, and are best mates.

I actually thought the game was played in good spirits. I even saw Essendon's Kelly giving Sloane a hand up off the ground at one stage.
Be funny what was said between them given atkins kicked 1 later on.

We need 2 big blokes in defense Otto would be 4-5 " shorter than Keath and massively slower. Keath has a better kick than Otten and Hartigan.
If he keeps playing well. I recon he stays Hartigan/ Otten the backups to Keath until he has a mare.

I bet next week that we will see Keath matched up on Buddy for periods of the game. We are keen to keep him the last defender on the line, and Talia the one that goes on the lead up forward, but I think Keath has some nice attributes to go with Buddy as well as being a fellow left footer.

The ultimate test.

I'm sure if the greatest forward in the modern era kicks a couple on him the knives will be out!

I thought it was a good win, responded when we needed.

I did notice Lever was given a shut down role which he struggled with. was left one out and was beaten most times. I wonder if this was a subtle play by the coaching staff, just letting him and his suitors know that he's been playing so well because of the structure that he fits into perfectly. If he plays out of his comfort zone its "buyer beware". If you don't have the right defense he isn't the man to fix it.

$500-600k 3 defender is about right. Reports of $800+ is way overs.

You should press charges. Nothing excuses that. How many people have died from a coward punch?
Agree with Lance (unfortunate name given the circumstance). People need to be held to account.

Hey folks, congrats on the win.

Don't want to put a dampener on things but this is VelvetSledge's partner. He's been coward punch / king hit tonight by a Crows fan just outside Southern Cross Station near platform 10. If anyone saw anything or knows anything then please PM me or just reply here. I'm taking him to the hospital now, he's very badly concussed. The guy was around 5'11", kind of round body shape, with brown hair and a Crows jumper with #9 on it. Thanks again all.

Sorry to hear that- hope Velvet is ok, and that someone has identified the f*#cker.

Edit- now caught up. Glad you are ok, mate. Shitty act, but good on the d1ck for turning himself in, probably unlikely to have ever been caught otherwise.

The Jobe Watson cheer was never supposed to go for four minutes. It was just supposed to be for the fourth minute of the fourth quarter. I agree though that it barely lasted 20 seconds and was fairly half hearted.

The crowd was also encouraged to cheer every touch of his throughout the whole game. That didn't happen at all.
