BTW, love you all too It has been tough and something I didn't mention cos I thought you peeps might be sick of my sad tales, but there was another one 1 month ago yesterday. My sons long time girlfriend passed away. I flew up to the GC straight away and was there for nearly 2 weeks..she had been sick on and off for a while. Son still doing it tough ..

I'm well thanks, have to be with so much happening atm....moving house next weekend.

sorry poor wording, tough couple of years as in we will go backwards relative to other contenders (Port, Melbourne, Carlton and GWS) and we may struggle for top 4 let alone top 2 (which is what we need to have a genuine crack on GF day) - will need a mini rebuild of sorts slotting a few younger guys in

Still, disagree totally.

We're cherry ripe. I don't think we'll go backwards to anyone around us. But that is just individual perception.

IMO what is going out of our club versus what is developing keeps us in a great position.

Plus, as another layer on top of that, is how good has our recrutiing & drafting been over the last five or six years? Hope it's still a strong point this upcoming trade & draft period.

I don’t really have words to describe the actual match or the sadness I’m feeling right now for both the fans who ride the highs and the lows all year and the players who had games they’d like to take back.

If we were going to lose like that though I was privileged to do it with all of you. Thanks for a magical week and year. I’m so lucky to be a lions fan.

One more chapter in the story and I believe in my heart that we’ll be back and be holding up that cup one day.

Absolutely shattered. Im trying to be positive about the year and think towards 2024. Where do we see our growth coming from? Hopeful that Jaspar with his first proper pre-season can really kick on and dominate on the wing and spend sometime on ball. Also need a couple of lads from outside the team to jump out and have a massive pre-season (Sharp, Tunstill, Brain…)

Jaspar, Willmot, 2x Ashcroft brothers, Dev, Coleman we have a lot of good youngsters

I’d be shocked if Joe didn’t win the B&F. Stood up today along with Charlie, clug and kiddy. Not many others met the mark.

I was so disappointed with that advantage call in the dying last couple of minutes because Joe was set up in the goalsquare and could just picture him making something of it. Another time when Kiddy had a ping and Joe was free on his own.

You can point to all these moments ,if we win no one cares.

A fully fit Payne turning entries into counter attacks with marking... that really could have been a game winner instead of Gardiner and Lester halving contests at best.

I thought they were both ok to be fair - I put Lester in my best 6

If you go thru each list and give them a mark out of 10 I have Collingwood a long way in front - we were lucky to be so close

I know it doesn't help but nothing but respect for Brisbane. I grew up watching the great lions team of Voss etc al and those gf losses really stung. Just because they were so good lions always been my fave other team. You guys could have snagged it there. You'll be there about for the next few years.
