Not at all. Cox has been a valuable player across the year. But not great in every game.

I don't hear anyone suggesting that he shouldn't play Saturday. He doesn't have to star like last week, I think it's very unlikely he will.

WCE are going to be giving him a lot of attention so that has to help the other forwards.

He just needs to play his role. If everyone does that we are a decent chance.

Yes no one is suggesting he "should't play" but there have games he might of well not played (even given his height giving "structure"), as the structure he was giving was nul and void by being moved under the ball and opposition like McGovern marking and rebounding it.

I hope he can have half the game he did vs Tigers, not sure why that isn't what we should raise his bar too as an expectation? if he was a 3rd year KPF and showing games like vs Tigers PF many would be expecting more then "just compete" etc.


I cant actually believe you would be happy of a repeat of his game say vs WC in the qualifying final or his very average game vs GWS in a GF. We need everyone to have moments where they impact the game whilst also playing their role.

I wouldn't be happy with his WCE game and neither would he. The guy seems like a real competitor and I'm sure he wants to replicate last Friday. But that was Carey-esque so I'm not expecting it.

If he takes one contested mark a qtr, kicks a goal or 3 and brings the ball to ground in enough contests to stop the Eagles marking across half back he has more than played his role.

Just a few initial thoughts at this stage. Doubt we will have any changes.

Will be interesting who Greenwood goes to?

Will they start with Treloar on the bench or Pendlebury?

Can Cox be as influential, can he double up, how will they play him? I am not sure that he will play like he did but hopefully can either mark or bring it down for our little guys. Thomas/JDG. Hope they can keep our fwd line as open. Didn't mind Stepho playing up the field.

Not sure that the Mayne/McGovern will happen again, they will be wise to it and counteract.

I liked the idea of alternating Sidey/Whe/Stepho/Mayne on the Southern Stand wing.

Happy if we can share the goals.

I think there's too much focus on the polar extremes, the Hawks game and QF v the PF. He's played a role in the vast majority of games this year and I wouldn't expect any less Saturday.

Generally sides need 7 defenders for the day. I'd assumed Aish would play back, but I don't know your side as well as you guys do.

Won't matter. Ground is quick drying and Melbourne doesn't get storms. Would have to be a monsoon to make any difference
