Ian Salmon took a mark down the geelong rd end that has stayed fixed in my memory since the seventies he was a big uit and stood on one of our own players head .... cant remeaemer the opponenet.

Laurie Sandilands also took a blinder at th eother end in that area both were as good as you will see any where regretably not on film that I have seen

Great thread subject :)

Well, this one was well before I was born but I have seen this image in many books along the journey.

Merv Hobbs in 1969

I am trying to figure out who actually took this picture. Does anyone have any idea?

Easton Wood has taken 2 this year. One last week in the preliminary final against GWS, the other in round 1 right in front of me, against the Dockers. Both were very brave, especially the one against the Dockers.

The two best speccies since Robbo's one hander v Lions. The grab in the PF was incredible, he was up, up and up, then took it on the way down. The scenes behind him in the crowd were incredible from where we were, directly opposite.

The ones that come to mind for me are Matty Robbins against Brisbane and I also remember Monty having a patch of about 3 weeks in a row where he took some rippers. One of them against Sydney at the SCG.

Phil Krakour took a great one out at Waverley for us one day, can't remember who it was against maybe Hawthorn.

Matty Robbins took a one handed Ablettesque screamer a few years back.

Phil also sat on a bloke's head in the goal square Barkley street end. Huge hanger !

99?

The height of Libba vs Kelly rivalry, we were getting smashed, he took it in the 4th. I remember because I went with a Swans mate, got pissed and I was the only Bulldog in the grandstand. Every time Libba touched it the whole crowd would boo, then there would be a moment of silence after he kicked it which was my chance to cheer him on, remind the crowd about his brownlow, etc.

How did Easton not get Mark of the year for that Freo grab? I was genuinely shocked he wasn't even in the top three. Daw's type of mark are a dime a dozen these days running forward into a pack. He got a bit of height. But Easton's grab against Freo running back with the flight of the ball. You've got courage running back, together with the massive hang time he got. That type of mark is a rarity and deserves far more accolades than the Daw grab. Just my thoughts.

Pretty sure it's fan voted, also why Bont didn't get goal of the year.

Lobb should have won, Daw was just more spectacular as he is so athletic. Wonder how Wood's grab in the prelim would have gone if it was a month earlier

It was 1998 when Monty took those four marks.

Once at the SCG against Sydney, one in round 21 at the MCG against Essendon, one in the QF against West Coast, and the other seems to escape me. I think it may have been against Hawthorn.

The day he took the mark at the SCG was the same day Libba did his knee.
