Any match against the Dragons represents a survival situation as opposed to a match thread. We came into this match with a simple goal, get the four points with as little interaction with the dragons as possible.


Poor kicking cost us the opportunity to fully decimate the Dragons, with the mighty Gumbies running finishing up as 9 behind winners.


This match sadly represented the disappearance of BLERN. I sincerely hope he is ok, and life permitting, returns to the Gumbies to post again one day.


An even affair on the stats sheet was contrasted by another dominant posting performance from team Leader Fryer Tuck, whilst Roo2macca, BRAB and DERO continued to shine on field, with BRAB recording 3 Mobbs votes in this game. What a guy!


Dragons FFC 14.6 (90) lost to Gumbies FFC 14.15 (99)

MOTR came from Dragon Island, where the Gumbies fought back from a slow start and inaccuracy to record a valuable win against a top 4 rival. In a hard slog, DERO and @roo2maccawere dogged for the Gumbies, while mike123 was the Dragon’s best.

Hawks no longer Squawk as they got porked by Gumbies.

It’s always good to get one over Loonerty and the Gumbies set out to cause more harm in an absolute thriller against the valient Hawks, winning by 2 goals and a point in a game that will go down in Gumbies folklore as the day BLERN fullly dominated a Sweet FA match.


Roo2macca wasn’t far behind, netting three goals and an unspecified amount of hitouts to announce himself as one of the league’s premier ruckman.

Off the field the middle of the season had hit the Hawks hard and the thread only reached 18 pages. Despite huge posting efforts from the Gumbies, the Hawks just failed to turn up which was overall an indictement of the Hawks leadership and a sign that losing the Killer B’s over the off season had hurt them more than anybody except your truly (hehe) could have predicted.
