Another big loss when we were on the precipice of brilliance. Is there anything more cruel? (Note: Yes, losing an EKA after posting 30 media threads in a season is more cruel)


This was a game where the midfield really were on the proverbial attack so to speak. In a losing side, BRAB, RU_ and Roo2macca picked up 3, 2 and 1 Mobbs votes respectively.


Not saying it was the forward line’s fault but at the same time definitely blaming Jivlain. Haha. Haha. Hahahahaha.

Speaking of winning, it’s time to discuss our next award! The League’s Best: Club’s Best award.


This award was brought in to commemorate the significant contribution of the wider league community to the continued sustainability of the Gumbies brand. 10 posters who have chosen to stay anonymous have sent in their votes for their favourite gumbies poster of the season.


I would like to call up SM to the stage to receive this cherished award!


As SM is retiring at the end of this season, I would also like to announce that from this point, this medal will be aptly named the SM medal!


Let’s take a moment to remember SM, and the fact that he was always right.

Heartbreak over the two weeks made this match particularly important.


This wasn’t just a match for the 4 points but a match for the Psyche of Gumbies everywhere.


And BOY, did we show up.


The Warriors hit us early with 3 goals but we hit back harder to lead in the first. The lead swung back and forth before we overcame the Warriors at the final hurdle to emerge 18 point winners.


This was the ultimate litmus test for a club that had to win to show the world that we weren’t falling into old habits. This was our judgement day and it was a testament to everyone at the club that we not only won the game but successfully submitted a team sheet.


This was the win that would ultimately secure a top four finish for this proud club. I shed a tear on the day.

It was crunch time in the league and honestly it was a huge grind against the eventual premiers.


Whilst we only went down we were statistically just off. Sometimes the rebound after a huge win hurts and unfortunately we just weren’t able to recover to put up a competitive effort.


One really positive note was the continued contributions of DERO. It’s always really exciting to see so many team members put in the effort and DERO is one that really does deserve recognition. Expecting big things from old mate in the future!
