Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

There was outrage, they were two of our best 5 players, in their prime, and were the reason we stood any chance in games that year. Not comparable to these trades in my opinion, but the same type of clean out this post-season as that one.

I feel super old being able to remember that period so clearly. Along with many hawks fans, I didn’t like the call to hire Clarko!

Until the end of 2006 I wasn’t sold. Rebuilds are for patient people!

Hay was poison.

I remember seeing him in a pub drinking and smoking with friends when he was out injured.

Thats one type of recovery I guess.

The funny thing about picking up Cooper Stephens and people melting because we didn't get fair value for Tom is that Coop was taken 6 picks prior to Deven Robertson who plenty here wanted us to trade for, and who's probably tracking equal to Robertson, but with a third as many games.

There's some upside there.

What it is...is us putting our faith in our coaching and development to get this very young group battle hardened in right way for a serious tilt in 2 years. Giving them games, time to develop and learn and as a group all from the same page. This is going to take time and this is how we are going to have success (eventually)
Providing that we have the talent on the list to nurture :eyes:

Yes but seeing upside isn’t as cathartic as banging your fingers into your phone/keyboard now, is it? Why do that when we can fire off ad hom attacks about the appearance of a bloke we’ve never met who is trying to push a boulder up a hill in cleaning up the absolute shitshow that was our list.

Bowes debacle?
Give me a break.

On SM-G950F using BigFooty.com mobile app

Of course it was a debacle. How dare this club not be able to attract players who have had a months long pre-existing interest in playing for a team that has also just won the flag. McKenzie should be punished by catapult!!

I was quietly praying we land the kid. Love his game, strong at it, strong over the ball, quick, decent tank and kicks beautifully off both feet. What’s not to like.

Big tick.

Do we have a midfield anymore? I haven’t seen cuts this savage since Edward Scissorhands tried to pleasure himself.

Newcombe, Worpel, Wingard, Amon, Moore, Nash, Ward, Morrison, Day, Magginness, Stephens.

Yup, no midfielders like no youf.

Bombers have 22 which is 845 points, picks 41,48 and 52 is 960 points. Fingers crossed Davey is before pick 22 and Dodoro does the deal.

If then go in this draft with 6,22,24 and the 3 top 30 we will have in 2023 will be good.

Funnily enough Pick 27 is 703 points, Picks 41 and 50 is 685 points. FML

We'd lose one of next year's seconds also for bombers 22 mate.

They have the points I believe, or can go into defecit anyway. For them it's about not using pick 22 on Davey unnecessarily.

No chance we keep both next years seconds and land pick 22.

What's the difference between bruhn and Stephens on exposed form ?. Stephens form in the vfl was pretty impressive early before he got a string of games in the seniors.

Cats clearly think there's a big difference.

Hopium. Give me more.

Cutting Phillips, Howe, Shiels, Tom, Jom, and Downee from the midfield isn’t savage, it’s just clearing the list cloggers. There’s a few more I would have traded out.

The midfield next year will be younger, stronger, quicker and better by foot.
