Surprised there hasn't been more love for Puopolo's game. Was equal on tackles with Shiels (11or12) when he got injured. His 2nd and 3rd efforts and composure under pressure was immense. Seriously hope he is ok. Very important player for us these days.
Was very good.

Hope his injury is not too bad.

I thought we were average today.. I'm not sure we have enough ammo up our sleeve to be in it at the pointy end. We continue to try and be to pretty, we look rubbish going forward ( been the case all seeason) and our big main forward in Ruff is having a stinker of a year.

Positives are Chip Frawley and Lakey looking formidable, those 2 could well win us games buy keeping the opposition bigs in check and Daniel Howe looks like he could be a Bontempelli type.. That's exciting.

Suckling did nothing to suggest he should keep his spot, Liquor looks a run of the mill depth player and Doc looks like his hit his ceiling as a player ( which is fine as he's a solid contributor).

There's some improvement left in the side and we've been that good for so long you never know how we will come on.

I only saw the first quarter. Was some of the worst football I'd seen us play this year, and that's quite an achievement.
Needless to say that when I saw the final score I was a little surprised we'd won. I'm assuming that if we weren't playing GC (or carlton) then we would have lost

I dunno, if Collingwood are allowed to switch black and white stripes for white and black stripes then I think we can have a predominantly brown clash jumper. I like it and nearly anything would be better than the current travesty.

I agree with you. Preferential treatment for Eddie's mob? Surely not!

Is there a 'metres-gained' stat somewhere?

Anyone able to post what our performance from a Team perspective? I'd be interested to see Smith's results & also his Disposal Efficiency stats.

Thanks in advance.
He had 30 disposals at 76.7% efficient.

Not sure on metres gained.

I didn't see the game but hell I was hoping we would win by at least 100...they are crap and injury depleted...

I don't know but we really seem complacent this year.

For the first time this year i feel something's up and am slightly worried we may not be as good as i was hoping we could/may be. God i hope im wrong. Just wasnt inspiring enough.

Yes Howe, Shiels, Smith, Doc, Chip, Hill and a few more ok but want more.

Chip a great recruit!

Hope we can reboot and find our mojo after the break and dont lose again this year. Hope Clarko has a few aces remaining up his sleeve.

Just finished watching the delayed game. Thought Litherland was pretty good today.

I was beginning to think I was the only one with those thoughts. Did enough for me one on one to suggest he keeps his spot if Birch needs more rest. Won some good contests and burnt off his direct opponent and more importantly did not torch the ball with the kick.

I'll have to give Doc a rap also, was hard at the contest all day and had pretty good disposal figures on a day that was less than ideal. He stays for mine...

A few points:

1. At this time of the year, we just want wins. Every win takes us closer to the finals, and each one is 4 premiership points: little else matters.

2. The conditions were terrible, and it's very difficult to judge good and bad players.

3. The Knee-Jerk response to the game is pointless. How can you write off the team or any individual player based on a game played in swirling winds and periods of driving rain?

And where's that Tassie poster who said they've been having great weather recently?
What a contrast, it's been weird catching some of the other games from Etihad & Alice Springs being played in absolutely perfect conditions!

The best post on this thread. A 50 point win in truly horrible conditions (sometimes the wind was driving the ball backwards) was a good effort. Some people are just carrying on like spoiled brats. I feel lucky that I still thoroughly enjoy watching the club I support win by 50 points. It seems a lot on here don't.

Haven't seen or heard anything about this game apart from the score ..... what happened to give the media a chance to sink the boot into Hawthorn THIS week?

Too tough on the poor little Suns perhaps?
"Hawks unsportsmanlike when shepherding the man on the mark" would be my guess

I noticed some of the same issues we had against GWS. Was left with an impression watching that often a Hawthorn player would take possession in the centre of the ground under no immediate pressure, and while there were 4 or 5 team mates in the vicinity they were all flat footed or bunched too closely together to effectively transition the ball forward being constrained by either time or space. What you then get is a sequence of handballs and fumbles under pressure some of which lead to turnovers. To their credit the players are trying to make it work rather than launching a long bomb panic kick forward.

Agree. Seems like there is more pressure on the team this year from fans to win the three-peat than there was last year to win back to back. I am very happy that we are competing reasonably well and have not fallen off a cliff. Even if the team put in 100% on the training track and still have the hunger, it's very hard to maintain good form and momentum over a three year period. Notwithstanding that there are many areas for improvement, I am more than happy with how we are tracking so far this season.

Edit: Actually a four year period remembering that we played in the 2012 GF as well.
