Don't understand the criticism of Mitchell. Thought he was among our best players last night and his willingness to put his body on the line was consistent throughout. Made a couple of blues but considering he gets his possession under pressure you have to expect a couple of turnovers.

I'll happily back down on my point of view, he's playing well enough (even when below par to what i'm used to seeing, it's still streets ahead of many other players!). I am just concerned about Hawthorn carrying in too many players under an injury cloud.

I don't wanna lose the GF:cry::cry:!! Someone convince me why we can win!! Because i'm scared!!….

When you get scared it's fight or flight.
We can fly.
But
We are a happier team when we are in a mighty fight.
Using the strongest emotion love, to win.
No matter our situation, we will always be striving to improve our game plan, based on teamwork that requires individuals to put team first to benefit the individual.
Seems to work.

In the name of equalization. Before the game and after every win the AFL make the stadiums announce this over the loud speakers, to let everyone know so they can all have a think about how we DO (it).

Agree that he's not quite back to his best but I guess it goes to show how high of a standard he has set over the last 7-8 years that last night could be considered a bad game. The last thing he has to achieve in his career is a really influential game in a granny and I think he will do that next week as Shitney will have to worry about Hodge, Lewis, Langford, Smith and Hill. Mitch will hopefully find space and hurt the Swans early and often.

Cyril shouldn't be an automatic inclusion based on that performance at Box Hill. Even if he's going at 70% as instructed he should of slaughtered a bunch of second grade players. Didn't do enough.

I would have rather gone the Gary Lyon route (can't believe I'm agreeing with that moron). Try to break him and if he gets through he plays.

McEvoy is a certainty to play in the GF IMO. He was also sorely missed for Box Hill, Collins just wasn't good enough.

how secure is shiels with cyril and sewell waiting in the wings? simpkin should be under consideration, and dureya might be under the pump as well.
..

Shiels will be close to first picked. Is miles ahead of Sewell now. Couldn't be more secure.

Duryea booked his ticket last night too.

C'mon, his name sounds like it starts with S.
You should be all over him

Rioli is not ready for a grand final against the swans.

Only Cyril would really know.
Would he take someones spot if he thought he was not.

He doesn't seem to be the kind that would put himself before the team.
If he plays he knows a teammate will be hurting.

yea that extra $20 000 per player or whatever will be the reason we win the premiership:rolleyes:
No you will lose despite the extra Million dollars in your salary cap
Plus the extra 1.5 million ambassadorial payments that also relieve salary cap pressure.

Cyril plays. He went at 70% he will be fine. Schoenmakers was woeful today. McEvoy seems a certainty. Love the look of Sicily. Can't wait for next Satday!

And what happens when he has to go at a 100
Do we bring Lewis in at 70% as well

Sugarcoat it and deny it all you want but the truth is AFL wants a successful Sydney side and the big wigs are ready to do anything to make it happen. As for the Melbourne based clubs there is nothing we can do about it other than live with it. As far as I am concerned I don't give a rats ass about all the COLA being handed out but what annoyed me and still does is the packet of chips AFL gave us as compensation for losing arguably the best player in the league. My issue is not with with the Sydney Swans but with the idiots running the AFL like a local Pizza Takeout.

From the Box Hill game thread looks like he slowly built and went at full tilt in Q3, but in a very limited area in the forward 50.

If Cyril says he didn't feel any twinges when at full pace and that he trusts the hammie for goal square duty, and he doesn't come up sore, and the scans don't reveal any additional problems, he could be considered to play full forward in the GF with the other boys leaving him in space.

The biggest downsides are that he will probably be instructed NOT to chase his opponent on the way out, to reduce the risk of doing the hammie, this is not our usual style of play, and it smells a bit of desperation.

The upside is that it will probably reduce the effectiveness of a key Swans defender, creates the possibility of a bit of team lifting brilliance which is lacking in this side (ever since Buddy left and Cyril got injured), and might just get us a couple of goals.

Lewis at 70% is better than no Lewis at all I feel. He's come out today and said he'll play - good enough for me!

Would prefer taz at 70 than both him and Cyril at 70

Tough calls will need to be made
