Port Adelaide are the form team of the whole finals. Completely destroyed Richmond - maybe not such a great reference point but truth is Richmond are not far from North's level.

Freo is the best reference point. Port annihilated Freo in the second half on Freo's own dung heap - toughest road trip in footy. Port beat Freo by 22 points away from home after giving them a 5 goal start. Sydney beat Freo by 24 points in Sydney. Based on the margins Port's performance against Freo is superior to Sydney's.

Hawthorn beat Port ;)
That kind of logic never works.

That kind of logic never works.

How about this logic.

Hawthorn has won 4 of their last 5 games against Sydney, the only game we lost was a game we were rolled by 3 goals in the last quarter without Rioli (last quarter), Hodge, Mitchell, Sewell and Lake. In round 18 we rolled them by 10 points at the MCG without Lake and Rioli, in a game the Bloodz were shooting for 12 on the trot at full strength save Hannebury. Funnily enough the Swans were 1.60 to 2.30 favourites in that game as well and actually led us by 4 goals halfway through the 3rd quarter.

...and they are run away favourites? How???

Sydney winning is totally legit.

I seem to remember Lethal tipping Geelong and Hawthorn in 2008 and 2012. Lethal has no emotion for us, he's now a Brisbane Lions Director FFS

Parkin is the tipster to watch out for (as he's tipped all bar one premier since 2000). That said he may be the legend tipped to present the cup to Clarkson and Hodge (if we're successful) so it might be slanted

I think I heard the 'legend' was going to be Alan Joyce.

Funny he played most of his 9 years at Hawthorn with dodgy shoulders/thumbs, now all of a sudden after less than one year at Sydney he's taking the big contested marks with seemingly no discomfort.

Something in the water up there?

Nothin in the water...might b new pharmaceuticals being ingested though

But that's Buddy though, without Buddy its not that impressive. Tippet has kicked 33 goals in 13 games, Goodes 28 goals in 20 games and Reid a measly 17 goals in 18 games.

Over the space of the season we've kicked 53 more goals than the Swans, they have a far better defence than us though...allowing 47 less goals than us.

That said we've kicked 13 and 15 goals against them this year which is well and truly above average for the Swans

Take the defense stats with a grain of salt.

Stratton, Gibson and Lake all missed large chunks of the season and only played a handful of games together.

Thankfully those games all came at the end of the season

It's weird how all the stupid things that happen during GF week screw with your mind. On my way to take my son to school I saw the city council were cutting down the hawthorn bushes that were growing on the street down the road from the school. It sent me into a tailspin of depression. I'm ok now because, as I mentioned above, The Squiggle has picked us.

I live in a rural/coastal area and the Hawks are in full flight everywhere you look. They look serene, powerful and majestic.

(ps I think the bushes you are referring to are spelled Hawthorne so it's ok;)).

Oh why oh why....why did I feel the need to watch Talking Dribble on C7?

Lethal was asked for his 4 favourite GF moments... Not one of these were from his playing days.

His GF tip? a definitive "Swines" was his reply.

No loyalty. Sh!t that hurts from my all-time greatest footy hero

Its all a ploy. Put all the pressure on $hitney!

Parkin was all over this manic football bul#*%t last year... are you sure he tipped us?

Lethal and Darcy tipped Swans....interesting that Watson picked Hawks.

I wouldn't expect anything more from Darcy.
He jumps on what ever bandwagon is passing by at the time.
That's why he wears those stupid gloves - so doesn't get splinters as he's jumping on. :D:D

He's been wrong plenty of times this year. Even when asked at three quarter time of a game. After all, most of these EXperts are really just EXfootballers and know about as much as we do (or less).

I thought Watson was quite good last night while the other two were crapping on and on about Sydney he brought up about how we've had a really tough year and shown amazing resilience and should not be written off. Its nice to hear someone give us a chance for once.

The tainted swans should be much fitter than us, they just had a practice match last Friday night. They were just running around keeping warm...:D We should be so lucky
I am concerned how tired and exhausted our team was in the last quarter, we were very, very lucky to win it. We had a tough game on Saturday, a long year, and playing tougher games that any other clubs played. With all the injuries,a sick coach, a fill in coach, we deserve to win it this Saturday, but it never quite works out like that
How easy did the tainted swans get the majority of games this year. The AFL make sure they do!

You forgot to mention that we have beaten Sydney 6 out of the last 7 matches at the G.. :thumbsu:
