Someone mentioned it earlier & I like the idea of Suckling as sub.

The first 1/4 of a GF is no place for Suckling - he'll be pushed around, run-off & never have a spare inch to get onto his left.

Play him as sub & he comes on when others are tired & the game has opened up a bit. The sub is often used as an impact player & often a runner gets the gig - well nobody runs as fast as Suckling kicks.

I'd have played Simpkin as a defensive forward on malceski instead of Suckers but now that he's here, I think we'd get the most from him (& hide his deficiencies best) as the sub.

Interesting perspective. I think this may have just persuaded me.

Also, Cyril would have more game time to work with. Brilliant. If he does - he won't - but if he does suffer a reinjury, then on comes someone else.

Talking to a Simpkin family member today in Colac , could feel the anxiousness , desperately unlucky Joffy. Now up to Cyril to justify his selection , love the fact that we have rolled the dice !! Go Hawks

Rioli and Puopolo are defensive forwards. Puopolo was groomed for that role, Rioli does it instinctively. Puopolo can take Malceski out.

One thing to remember about Cyril, he was one of the few, if not the only player who came out and flat out said 2012 burnt and be openly pissed.
I think he will have a real fire in his belly, I don't think he'll leave anything out there.

Would of liked Simpkin to resume that defensive forward role on Malceski. Did it so well and completely blanketed him out. Was one of our Bests in that game IMO.

If Lewis is still on one leg I'd let him do that role instead of playing in the midfield. It was fun when he would make Heath Shaw look second rate (not too hard to do) and kick a handful.

Everyone forgets that Cyril had a massive corky in 2012 thanks to that Crow campaigner Reilly in the last minute of that game; for which we had Cyril to thank for getting us over the line & into the Big dance....Smith won't have it THAT easy again!

Rememeber that pure canine behaviour

Andrew Jarman has now apologised for his unfounded comments re Clarko leaving the Hawks for the Crows. Ratten is on their radar however.
