What were Sydney's disappointments? 2006 was a long time ago - they only have 4 players in their team who were there. What is the other disappointment?

Not getting 35% for the COLA. It would've cut them up real bad.

Apparently missing out last year!

Reckon redemption for us will be a huge factor.

They say premierships are one by the bottom six players, not the top six.

I must say I find it very hard to list six "bottom" players. Maybe the bolded...

B: Gibson# Lake Birchall#
HB: Mitchell# Stratton Hodge#
C: Hill# Langford# Smith#
HF: Breust# Gunston# Lewis#
FF: McEvoy Roughead# Puopolo
Foll: Hale Shiels# Burgoyne#
Int: Rioli# Duryea Spangher# Suckling#

But holy crap, what quality!!

The #'s are guys who polled Brownlow votes. Depth people, depth.
Langford will not be in our bottom 6 come late Saturday afternoon.

Mark Fine gave the most balanced analysis of the match tonight on SEN, first guy I have actually seen analyse the game and certain match ups instead of dribbling over Buddy and Sydeny.

Tipped Hawthorn and tipped us confidently.
Obviously just trying to get back into our good books after that huge thread here bagging him (which I believe he's referenced on his show). :p

What a disgusting pack of campaigners the marngrook people have been tonight. $wans supporters I don't think there has been a single $swan player who hasn't been featured on tonight's show. You'd reckon there was one team in it.

This is why I didn't watch it tonight, just knew it would be a Sydney love fest. Have imposed a TV media blackout on myself this week (can cope with radio...just)

I hate the sub rule as well. It is ironic though in the sense that the sub rule is the only thing allowing the Hawks to take the risk with Rioli.

edit: not sure if that is proper irony or Alanis Morresette irony

Get rid of the sub rule for the GF i reckon

I was actually thinking about this subject tonight whilst Cam Mooney was talking about great 3/4 time speeches. Mooney mentioned the 2009 3/4 time talk from Bomber where bomber referred to 2008 - do not let that happen again or something along those lines. And I thought that Hawthorn are the only club with that fuel to throw on the fire this year. Can you imagine Longmire revering the swans up with we were robbed last year :drunk:. They were no where near it  And if he mentions 2006 18 blokes are going to look at him like WTF o_O

The Hawks are the only ones with any real angst to use in this one - 2012 and Buddy. Both burn hard. Sydney cannot even use the world is against us, the world is shoved so far up their sphincters I am concerned about the smell at the ground on Saturday.

Had a mate tell me Taylor D has been walking laps away from the main group. Anyone know if this is true?

I heard someone ask this on the radio today. Apparently he was doing that on Tuesday but trained with the main group today and everything is good (according to journo on radio, sorry can't remember who it was).

Yes I completely agree under normal circumstance where we are wanting to exploit and we expect it to be 3/4 time, but this move is a roll of the dice, we throw cyril in and let him do his magic and hopefully all goes well, but what if he goes down early, then we need a like a like

So you want a like-for-like player purely based on the chance that he goes down early? Selecting players or substitutes based on if they will go down early is awaiting failure.

You do the same thing as you would if he didn't go down early - which is select a player which can come in and play their role either way. You plan for the ideal time for them to come into the game which would have the most benefits for the team and most exploitation of the opposition. If it does have to be earlier than that, then that player should be expected to play their role in that situation too - doesn't necessarily have to be the exact same one. We have a number of versatile players who can play different positions - that is assuredly one of our strengths.

Thanks. Was thinking it might mean a late swap for Simpkin/Sewell.

That's just BS I'm sick of this week I'm sick of the focus on the cheaters and us being the underdogs.there is something seriously wrong and corrupt about the media and AFL.i even saw a channel nine reporter say only a few thousand turned up to the training session when they expected 10000.it was implying we're a bunch of nobody's with apathetic fans.f$&k this s$&t I'm about to lose my cool!!!!!!

All the more reasons that we STICK IT RIGHT UP EM as Teddy would say.

More like 3 - 0

In other words Parko wanted to tip Sydney and the disappointment category is an easy out

Parko cant be serious when he says the mcg doesnt favour the hawks.

Played in sydney it would certainly favour the swans
