Great two quarter display of footy once we started winning the contested footy. Shocking goal kicking though. Could have been a drubbing otherwise.

On a serious note, I loved how Burgoyne took it upon himself to personally introduce Cockatoo to the 'finer' points of AFL footy. Absolutely smashed him on at least three occasions. In Shaun we trust!

Frawley was serviceable. Played Melbourne style a couple of times there. Good to see Jed kick a major. Lewis is an out and out star.

Mitch, Langers, Burgers, Ceglar, Poppy, Gibbo, Lake, Breust and Rough were all good.
Not too many negatives except the missed shots on goals and the last quarter slow down.
Great to see Anderson back played pretty well, will go from strength to strength as the weeks go on.

Well, looks like everyone got something positive out of that match. For Hawthorn it was the four points and percentage, and for Geelong, well I guess I'd have to say 'Mission Accomplished'.

I think the entire game went according to plan. First quarter was a gradual build up (don't go too early) then in the second and third, the afterburners kicked in. The last quarter was all about next week as we just slowed the game down to Ross Lyon proportions and turned the game into a bore. Didn't go for percentage, went for player conditioning instead. You can have top spot Adelaide, we're looking at September.

Excellent start to the season. All were good - Frawly seems loss when going forward and needs to learn Hawks ways soon. All in all could not have asked for a better start specially against pussies...
