Just having a laugh at all the Cats fans on the main board whingeing about that tackle at the end. They are calling Duryea and Burgoyne all sorts of things. I've admired the Geelong Football Club over the years ... but some of their supporters are just dead set tossers.

There's some good eggs on the Geelong board - sadly they are drowned out by a tidal wave of flogs that make Essendon fans seem sensible by comparison.

Frawley has some work to do. He's not running to the right spots, which is leaving his team mates confused - both his link runners and his intended targets.
Just nit picking, but I thought this stood out in what was otherwise an exceptional performance. Our stoppage work was great, and left them floundering.

I think we need to give Frawley a break....it's his fourth game and will take time to understand our systems and processes...remember the Dees have been a mess for the last xxx years

The bottom line is, with Lakey and Frawley in the team we don't have to fear the big forwards anymore which was our Achilles heel for years ;)

Burgers and Hodge were magnificent :)

The rats are finished IMHO :)

Apart from the first quarter, we toyed with them. Some will say it's arrogance but it's an attribute that is a hallmark of the truly great teams.

The way we battered them and schooled them with our skills was frightening. Ofcourse Geelong having spuds like Simpson, Guthrie and Smedts certainly helped our cause.

Can't wait to take on the Bombers next week.

Don't get me wrong - I rate Frawley for what he brings as he is. He's clearly a talented KPD.
I just felt that there was a clear disparity between his linkup and disposal, compared with all of our other guys who've spent more time together.
Not really a concern, more an observation.

Did anyone think Lewis would turn into the player he has? He is a machine, just doesn't stop presenting, has perfect disposal and even helps out for a few ruck taps every game. He could easily end up with a brownlow to go with his 4th premiership by years end.

Awesome.

Really interesting to see that we chose to bomb the ball into big boy all day, and very rarely did he try to mark it, was always tapping down to the crumbers.

We didn't go to gunston or roughy at all really.

Not sure how often we played with Breust, Rioli and Puopolo last year, but we really seemed to play to them as a strength.
By not kicking to gunston and roughy. That meant Harry taylor was pretty much unsighted all game- a rarity from previous games

Did Clark trying to start a fight with Lake in the defensive goal square get on the tv coverage? He was getting well pissed off that he wasn't getting any touches.

We wouldn't have played like that in the last quarter if the result were closer. It's Round 1 - no point in delivering a belting like St Kilda last year and coming out with a ton of injuries.

Phil! Happy new season.

That was a frightening display. Some of the new set-ups are staggering. The flexibility and belief he has in that team right now.

Must say I enjoyed beating the Cats by over 10 goals by playing two quarters.

I think someone should make a graph charting Lewis's improvement against his hair loss, like the opposite of Samson.

In all seriousness though he's been one of my favourites since he started with us, always had a feeling he'd make it to where he is but that it was just a matter of time. Just take a look at the bloke though, ridiculously fit. He must train the house down to stay in such good nick.

It'll take him a while to work out how we move the ball but his advantage is in negating the big forwards and allowing Gibbo to be another accumulating rebounder who will also be about as good as anyone there is at reading the play and giving his team mates chop outs.

Yep. To be honest, I just think everyone else is catching up to what he has been for quite a while..........and that includes our coaches now actually letting him play to the best of his abilities. A clearance, ball winning machine.
