Kennett overstayed any welcome he had at the club. **** off and don’t let the sledgehammer squash you on the way out.

He has infiltrated his views on politics into the club. Jeff just **** off

Anyone know exactly how much we paid Clarko for his 12-month holiday this year?

And has Jeff or anyone on the board ever put their hand up and genuinely acknowledged how badly that was handled?

On the elections, the sad thing to me looking at this at arms length is twofold. Firstly, unfortunately this election seems to have party politics at its core. The incumbents, Conservatives up against the agents for change, the the left wing leaning group. Then today the HS takes a current directors intent on driving the culture wars in an ugly climax in this apparent public party political and cultural war by pointing out Club greats and Premiership players are middle aged white me!

Andy Gowers is a member of the Liberal Party, and Ian Dicker (who has pledged his unconditional support to James Merlino) has been a very prominent donor to that side of politics for decades too.

The only person insisting this is about party politics is Kennett. The rest of us just want democracy and proper governance regardless of the various candidates’ political stripes.

My personal view is that we are lucky to have both Gowers and Merlino putting their hand up at this critical juncture in the club’s history. They’ve both got the skills, credentials and connections to serve our best interests. Even Jeff in a rare moment of contrition the other day acknowledged on Twitter that James is a capable consensus builder.

Imagine ?

I imagine lots of things too like Jennifer Hawkins being my wife ....then I wake up

Imagine is also a great song by John Lennon. What’s your point?

You don’t think that Dunstall and Langford who were both on the board previously wouldn’t support their premiership team mate running for the presidency? As I would imagine(think, conceive, expect, believe, assume, picture) that they could support their ex team mate in running for the presidency.

Why would you say that bold bit?

I personally know at least 20 who are NOT supporting Nank.
You “personally no at least 20 “ but then stated you “imagine “ dunstall and Langford are supporting Gowers

Bottom line current board is United and performing well

No need to play Russian roulette and risk instability just because some hate Jeff

Jeff is going , think about what’s best for hawthorn and don’t let Jeff’s ego and personality blurr that

We can see that the scare tactics that the board have ran with via media channels have definitely hit the spot with some when people are comparing voting for completely viable and sound candidates to putting a gun to your head.

That is just your opinion. And I would say that quite a few do not agree with it.

If there is a change to the presidency do you expect the current Board members to act professionally for the betterment of the club? You are almost insinuating that they won't, if that is the case maybe they shouldn't stay on.

It was I that said that I could imagine Dunstall and Langford supporting Gowers, not Topiary. Seeing that I have already responded to that statement to you, there is no point in going further into that statement.

I could imagine Jason Dunstall and Chris Langford both supporting Gowers over Nank.

Here is the quote which I responded to:

There are many, many past players supporting Andy Gowers.

All because you feel that supporting the current board and implementing Nank as President is the right decision is perfectly fine. You are entitled to believe that.

Just as others including myself feel that change is needed and implemented is also perfectly fine.

We all have individual thoughts on the matter. So rather than attacking other people’s points of view that you disagree with. why don’t you put a forward a case as to why people should be voting for the current board.

I think you have got yourself confused on who you are arguing with & what you are arguing about

Check who posted what bud

It’s not my personal opinion

The Board released a statement which they all signed endorsing the presidential elect and the 3 prospective board member elects

There’s no gun to my head

The board are United in there endorsements

The board is harmonious

I’ve read the prospective “time for change “ mantra …no substance

There main beef was pokies …there sold

Second beef is about Kennett …he’s gone

Third beef is about the process of electing nankervis …see Harris and Don Scott letter to members sent last week …i Believe them

You don’t fix what ain’t broken

Gowers team talk about everything but what matters …success , flags which only comes with a stable strong Board

There entry (considering the whole boards signed statement ) puts that at risk

I think a lot of this alternate ticket is based on a disstain for Jeff and his big fat ego ….look beyond that and see what’s best for the club at this time which is a stable functioning board over the next few critical years

So if Nank loses, does he remain a director? Obviously if Gowers comes in, there’s one too many, or does the situation allow an increase of one?

Or do the number of directors taken from the second lit depend on who wins presidential vote

Nankivell and Gowers only nominated for the position of President. Whomever loses is off the board.

Serious question - what’s Ian Silk doing? He’s got sensational commercial chops. Why isn’t he in the running over positions and ex players?
My understanding is that he’s sitting on the board, quietly waiting for the outcome of the election and not entering into any tomfoolery around endorsements.

My thoughts too, Top's says he didn't sign the the board notice, hearing crickets from Silk a bit surprising as all who i know who have met or know him personally, speak very highly of the man. Maybe thats why he is staying mum, not interested in the shit fight that is going on.

It's a reference to you saying voting for someone else besides Kennett is like playing Russian Roulette
It is

The whole board has released a signed statement on their endorsements

Introducing 2 renegades with no substance (reading their mantra ) is an unnecessary Risk

The board is doing a very good job and I’ll back them in

As for the polarising Jeff …he’s 75 and retiring
