Yeah, yeah. You sure had a lot of time to waste when you were 40 points down against us!!!!!!!
Round 15 wasn't even close to how we will go about it if we play in the finals, bit of trial and error stuff back than. Do you really think we would show all our cards on the table in round 15? what on earth for?, Everything we have worked towards this year is for 1 team, your mob. We went through the same process in 08, blueprint to beat the cats etc.

Wait to see how Geelong pulls up after Collingwood game. At the moment Geelong would have to be favourites going into the game. Afterall, its been drummed into us that its a two-horse race with Collingwood and Geelong being favourites.

For those who find such things significant:

The only time Hawthorn has lost twice to an opponent in the first round of matches and then beaten them in a final was v West Coast in 1991.

Probably a better indication would be how many times Hawthorn has beaten sides in a final that they defeated during the home and away season.

Harping back to 2008, our record against the top 4 going into the finals was 0-3

Hawks form last month better than Geelong's

Hawks would enter the game as favourites.

Hope Cats can draw on something against all odds and beat the powerful hawks

Overwhelming favourite ? you are joking right ? Hawks slight favourites I would think

WTF?
Geelong's form line going into finals:

Lost to Swans at home where they haven't lost in 4 years

Less than ideal finals preparation. Hawks will start deserving favourites.

The Cats were terrible on Saturday, but were clearly out of touch from the bye, a bit of a nothing game for them against a Swans side playing for a finals spot, whose captain had lost an infant daughter during the week. they were of course completely primed, it's amazing the Cats stayed in it really.

I called it during the week that the Swans would win, not too fussed about that. All streaks end sometime, the 4 year thing is irrelevant really.

I think Clarko is smart to know that what the cats dished up last Saturday, next week and pretty much the last month is irrelevant. Cats have been getting ready for September for a long time, as are the Hawks. The game will be played about 5 notches above current home and away games. Will be epic and a genuine 50/50

LOL! Yeah just forget the game as it will be a draw and go straight to extra time to get the result. I like it :)

Geelong's forward line is also a worry. Hawkins was horrible yesterday and is out of touch, Mooney hasn't had any rhythm/consistency, Vardy out for the year. I just don't know where their goals will come from as Pods can't do it all.

Plus the Corey injury is a blow so they are one gun down around the ball.

Chappy, SJ, stokes need to kick 7-8 between them, if they can, then i think we should go along way to winning.

Also Corey will def play, that foot rumour was rubbish, the club was contemplating playing him this week, but will be rested as precaution for QF.

Not since Sydney in 2005 has the eventual premier won all four of their last home-and-away games; Cats are nowhere near done despite the Hawks having had more wins on the trot. I'd put Geelong as slight favourites, should be a cracker of a game though.

Considering how close they came to a complete disaster last year the arrogance of collingwood supporters is remarkable.

Especially since Geelong and Hawthorn have good recent records v the Pies, Geelong beat them this season and Hawthorn's loss to them was virtually a non-event given the number of key players the Hawks were missing.

arrogance masking palpable relief

It's all about who brings it on the day.
The Swans are always ignorantly written off as "scrappers" with no talent, but there is a genuine premiership threat building here over the next 2 years. Point is - we got the Cats on the hop after the bye - but it still takes a pretty good team to do that.

I think a resurgent Hawks against an angry Geelong will be sensational. Cats by a whisker.

Bruising encounter with overtime :thumbsu:

Hawthorn by 5.

But nothing can mask StKilda's failure.

it will indeed be a tough, bruising encounter. and for the loser awaits syd or stk the next week and another obviously tough match physically. get through that and the pies with a week off to freshen up await in the prelim. so it is basically lights out for the loser of haw v geel in week 1. promises to be an absolutely epic encounter

and yes, of course nothing can mask st kilda's failure. i still love the old 'we were a bounce away from winning it' line from the saints fans. BS of the highest order. they had 7 minutes of game time after goddard's goal, with all the momentum, to put the pies away in the drawn GF. but the pies were the team that dominated those last minutes of the game. saints just not good enough, had nothing to do with luck

If Harry Taylor Plays and plays like Harry Taylor does.... Geelong will win. If he has any lingering effects from his concussion in 2 weeks (or he slips in the shower) and doesn't play to his normal high standard, hawks will win.

Most under-rated bloke in the League, bastard, I'm sick of him.

Harry Taylor. Dead set legend. Pulled down some really telling marks at crucial times during his career. Never seems to be rated by anyone (except us Cat fans of course) but he sure Spooks your boys. :)

hawthorn will rip Geelong a new one , geelong too old too slow and crap

hawthorn by 45 points .

dont you collingwood supporters realise that when you call Geelong 'crap' all your doing is making yourself look stupid.

We beat you this year. Need we remind you again?

Geelong may be out of form but we all know what they're capable of.
