Question marks on.....
James Worpel, Conor Nash, Jacob Koschitzke, Lachlan Bramble(zero defense, has to play wing or nowhere imo)

Suckling wasn't able to defend either but he had an elite left foot that was able to slice through or clear zones. I'm not sure what elite skill Bramble brings to the defensive unit.

So far we have looked the worst of any of the teams who have played. North played a good side as well and we're much more organised and competitive. There about as far back as us so it's a bit of an eye opener how poor we were yesterday. Geelong is very very good but not 85 points better in cruise control. Alot of self inflicted fundamental errors mixed with schoolboy defending. We need to see some sort of system next week against the Pies. Don't care about the result need to see more competitiveness across the board.
Chicken little. Yes we won’t be World beaters but if we finished below North I’d be very surprised

We've been hearing that for years. How many posters on here, at this time last year, were going on about how we are closer to a flag than them?

Atkins and Zuthrie were absolute potatoes only two years ago, and now they are very handy players. They have picked up talents like Stengle off the scrap heap and developed them into AA calibre players. Finding players like Stewart and Blicavs from nowhere.

They've just added Bruhn (21), Bowes (25) and Henry (21) via the FA and trades - they all looked very good yesterday. SDK is an elite young KPD.

I'm tipping they'll develop Knevitt, Holmes and Clark into a good midfield unit. Their talent identification and development system (in particular) is second-to-none.

I know that being positively negative is your shtick and that's cool, but come on.

I never said any of those things, I haven't been cheering for their death all through this in fact I said they would win the lot early last year.

Look at the age profile, they're in strife.

You've just guessed that the only 3 unknown young players on their list are going to be part of a 'good midfield unit', that's some serious speculation

I was silly enough to put SEN on yesterday
Dwayne Russell who is probably the most over the top extreme reaction to anything radio host going, even said the reaction to our game Geelongs performance and ours was ' the biggest over reaction of the year '.

He actually said he liked what we tried to do , saw some good signs , yes we made errors and got punished but it wasnt the train wreck a lot are making it out to be .

I feel dumber now for liking something Dwayne Russell said

Want to see our backline with CJ back in there, missing that intercept defender. Not sure on Bramble got a lot of it but when body contact is involved shirks it in my opinion. Again match simulation as they like to call it so will reserve judgement. It was a hot day at KP

Lewis
Jiath
Morrison
Breust

Two members of our leadership group and two players who probably weren't far off being selected for it as well. All missed on Thursday night. Team looks far more balanced and experienced with all on the park. Thankfully we could have three back for round 1.

If you put Stengle in 14 other AFL sides his output would be halved .

Plays in a team with the 2 best KF , best midfield with ball coming in under least pressure and more opportunity than most .
Bruest would kick 50plus at the Cats last season .
Good player but struggled in poorer teams despite being talented.

coaches once again praising bramble, seems likely he's gonna be in the R1 team

they must think his offensive capabilities suit the game plan enough that it offsets his defensive limitations.
DGB, Impey and Bramble all got a lot of good praise there. The back 6 + 1 on the bench is going to be a very interesting watch this year. Regardless of who is in the side we're going to have some very good players in the VFL.

they'll all end up getting a run but for R1 it's looking quite possible Scrim is the odd one out. Especially if we want to play both DGB and Frost

I might be in the minority but I like Dwayne Russell on SEN. I think he comes across quite balanced, and every time he's spoken about Hawthorn it's been positive.

My problem with that is that whatever Jacks perceived shortcomings are, right now, at the current moment he is a better AFL player than either DGB or Frost. Just a quick look at their stats will show you that.

I’d say the last spot will be down to either Frost or DGB.

that's only based on your opinion of them as players, which is fine, but not really reflective of what's coming out from the club

all the media from the coaches etc. seems to be suggesting Frost and Bramble will be best 22, and that Scrim is fighting with Denver for the last Spot. both were in the possibles, for example. I think Scrim will still play R1 but I also wouldn't be surprised if he's the one that's missing out based on what I've read and seen in the pre-season
