Pretty odd how great the performance was in the context of the season so far, pretty much everyone played their role and we never looked like dropping off. I know the Eagles were pretty bad but if the structures made that kind of turn around in a week, the coaches have done their job even if they took their time.

McEvoy really shines when left to Ruck alone. I know he was devastated after last week despite him personally playing a decent game (after 3 poor ones).

Great that this week McEvoy, O'Brien, Pittonet, Fitzpatrick and Vickery all playing well this week.

A few have said this and one of the reasons we were so keen on him was his elite endurance.

Interesting to see how it is handled as I'm inclined to agree he is better as a lone hand in the ruck.

Amazed at his turn around, I dead set thought he was gone after round 3, no leap, no speed, no effort. Next minute.. contested marking beast getting to contests again.

Great win. I was unable to watch the first half despite my best efforts so I was delighted to even see we were in the hunt at half time, let alone leading. Mitchell in everything and really slick. McEvoy looked great, Burton, Hardwick and O'Brien showing a lot for the future. Rioli inspired again and Roughy and Gunston kciking straight. So much to like.

I fear for their chances against a younger, faster Saints and Melbourne coming up but who cares about that, great to have such a strong win.

Fantastic game, couldn't ask for a better Round 1 match. I can only hope that we keep up this intensity for the whole year, which we should considering JOM should debut soon.

Brand had serious composure today. Held his own well and looked so at home back there. Burton and Hardwick on his flanks just looked so clean.

Super, super impressed. Just as we found holes in our backline, the next soldiers begin to stand up. They are worth persisting with.
