Toast How can this Melbourne side be stopped?

Yeah, Melbourne has some tough games at the end of the year but I don’t see them dropping all 9 of those challenging games. A couple more in June, maybe two more after that, 16-17 wins. Might not be top two but still could be because the Lions and Freo will probably drop some more too.

You saw what happened to your backline without May. Surely Melbourne fans of all people now understand the importance of KPDs. Put it this way, you’d rather lose Trac than May heading into an important game. Trac is replaceable. May ain’t. Paddy ain’t either.

Tough question. If you had to take Petracca or McCartin for the rest of their careers, who are you taking? Key position defenders that can dominate aerially like McCartin did tonight are extremely valuable in the modern game IMO. Petracca is a very good player, don’t get me wrong, but they’re a lot easier to find (see: Jai Newcomb) than brick walls like Paddy.

Paddy isn't anywhere near the level of May either. this is a seriously braindead take

Fair point, but he’s closing the gap. Will be interesting to watch their careers unfold from this point onwards. Paddy is great.
Paddy has been good but May is the best full back in the comp

carlton 1995 won their 16th game in a row of the season to win the premiership. by round 12 of 1996 they were a game clear on top of the ladder having only lost 2 games.
from there they finished the season 5th and got smacked in their finals.

Teams with a current losing streak of 2 or more games…..

North Melbourne Kangaroos Football Club

West Coast Eagles Pty Ltd

Essendon Koala Killers Football Club, and

Melbourne Football Snow Chalet Club.

Illustrious company the so called Godees are keeping there. 😂

So the operative question now of course is how can this Melbourne side be stopped…..from losing? 😍

Tiges may join us next week.

McCartin won’t make it to 100 games. Bookmark it.

May will win more flags and more All Austrlians. Bookmark that too if u like.

Their forwardline is pretty average at the moment. The Dees have only kicked 3 goals combined in the 2nd half for the last 2 weeks. 4 of their 9 goals came from their ruck duo tonight. Ben Brown has 0 goals in 3 weeks including against North Melbourne.

Just not doing enough.

You’re an obvious troll but who do you think Damian Hardwick would take?

We may not be able to join you given your now deeply ingrained habit of losing football matches. 😉

But while we are on outrageous hypotheticals….

Bombers and North win next week, and Eagles th4e week after and you may have the longest losing streak in the competition. How nostalgic that will be. 😁
If I were you I'd be more worried about your mob winning enough games to make finals, we're still sitting pretty on top of the ladder.

If you were me you would be a Richmond supporter….and you would be thinking of ways to make fun of this out of control Godees losing streak. 😉

Since rd 11 commenced the only teams to have fared worse than your sorry lot are in the priority pick queue. North and Eagles. It all seems to be falling apart very rapidly for the godees. 😂

I said the same thing about training loads a few weeks ago and got laughed at by opposition supporters after bringing it up again after the Fremantle loss. We went through a heavy training load this time last year, and lost to Adelaide and Collingwood, so this trough in form doesn't surprise me... or worry me.

I've also worked in sports science and football clubs and know that heavy loads often take place just prior to a bye as that break will provide a recovery period from those heavier loads.

Anyway, no doubt I'll be laughed at again as making up excuses. I guess we'll just see how we go towards the back end of the season.
Yeah ..... cause its only Melbourne who are in the midst of a heavy training load

No May ..... No Melbourne

Realistically there is no extra prize for going undefeated, and finishing 1st or 2nd is pretty much the same. I suspect that the plans and preparations have factored this in, and the goal is now to be peaking in September, not June.

I realise this is probably a troll but if you take Trac or even Oliver out then it’s a pretty average midfield too.
Any of Gawn, Oliver, Petracca or May being injured drags them back to the pack massively.
