Out of curiosity how what teams forward lines would you rank ahead of ours?Thats the Cam Mooney effect.
Your forwardline is not one of the best in the league. But thats how good the rest of the team is.

I'll have a crack.Out of curiosity how what teams forward lines would you rank ahead of ours?
Yeah the smalls/mids who can go forward are hard to quantify. Petracca for example is brilliant, but do you count him as a forward or a mid?I reckon the Cam Mooney comment is good - I do think our tall forwards are the weakest part of the team. Brown played a couple of really good finals (especially the GF), and McDonald was serviceable in the first half of the year, but for most of the year we struggled to really click up forward. Jackson's development in the ruck has allowed Gawn to play more forward, which has been important. Don't think we'd have won the flag without Jackson playing like he did in the last 6 weeks of the year.
I don't know which team has better mids/smalls up forward than the Dees though. GWS maybe? I really like Port's Georgiades/Rozee/Butters, but the last two went AWOL in the prelim.
Fritsch and Pickett are genuinely good players, and would slot into most sides. Spargo and Neal-Bullen have their flaws but are reliable kicks, and execute their defensive roles really well. And Petracca's 29 goals was the icing on top...
I think it'd be easier to determine which sides Dees forwards are definitively better than. As in plug that forwardline into a team with a shit midfield (e.g. Carlton) and how would they go?Out of curiosity how what teams forward lines would you rank ahead of ours?
so which sides forward line is the Dees better than?I think it'd be easier to determine which sides Dees forwards are definitively better than. As in plug that forwardline into a team with a sh*t midfield (e.g. Carlton) and how would they go?
Definitively? That's the point, not many. IMO North, Pies, Hawks.so which sides forward line is the Dees better than?
You’re taking the piss if you think our forward line isn’t substantially better than Carlton’s lmfaoDefinitively? That's the point, not many. IMO North, Pies, Hawks.
Not saying Dees forwardline is bad, it's just not one of the best.
Who do you think you're better than?
Depends how you define forwardline. Are you counting Petracca? You’re taking the piss if you think our forward line isn’t substantially better than Carlton’s lmfao
we're talking about the forward line on the whole, Mckay is a star no doubt but 1 player doesn't make a team goodDepends how you define forwardline. Are you counting Petracca?
Carlton has the Coleman medallist for a start.
Easier to have a rational discussion without your childishness.
Carlton had the Coleman medallist when they finished last in 2006 too, but I’m not taking that forward line over ours either. McKay is one player and he probably has more of the ball directed at him than any other forward in the league.Depends how you define forwardline. Are you counting Petracca?

Depends how you define it, sure. Jackson/Gawn are rucks but add a lot to your forwardline. As do a lot of your midfielders. The functionality of your forwardline is helped by your ridiculously good midfield.we're talking about the forward line on the whole, Mckay is a star no doubt but 1 player doesn't make a team good
Melbourne were shithouse that day and our form in the weeks around that game was pretty poor. If we play like that most teams are going to roll us, especially if they sack their coach the week before.Making Lever man up and actually stick to a guy is how Collingwood got them early.
You're entitled to your opinion. Maybe one day you'll learn to appreciate deeper aspects of the game.Carlton had the Coleman medallist when they finished last in 2006 too, but I’m not taking that forward line over ours either. I don’t think it’s childish to point out that you have NFI but to each their own
We just rolled up with no plan for the SCGMelbourne were shithouse that day and our form in the weeks around that game was pretty poor. If we play like that most teams are going to roll us, especially if they sack their coach the week before.
Yes it must take a very deep understanding of football to learn that Carlton having a one man forward line makes it better than the premiers’, I don’t think I’ll ever appreciate football on that levelYou're entitled to your opinion. His surname is ‘Owies’ because that’s what he said when he realised he had to play in Carlton’s forward line******* LOL @ Carlton having a better forwardline than Melbourne, holy sh*t.
After Harry McKay their next highest goal scorer was Eddie Betts (retired) and then Matt Owies, who I've never even heard of.
Kicked 15 goals apparently.. good on him!
I’d rate North’s forward line substantially above Carlton’s tbh, I wouldn’t be too upset if we replaced ours with North’s******* LOL @ Carlton having a better forwardline than Melbourne, holy sh*t.

Fair enough, you didn't say that- you just said Carlton had the Coleman medalist. I stand corrected.Never said Carlton was better, just that Melbourne's doesn't have one of the best forwardlines in the league.
Larkey and Zurhaar are ****ing beasts, add in Stephenson, Thomas and **** me they're scaryI’d rate North’s forward line substantially above Carlton’s tbh, I wouldn’t be too upset if we replaced ours with North’s
