Still 3 infected

Still held hostage pretty much by Dan's iron grip.

I though that to get to the last step that there needed to be no new cases in 2 weeks and no community transmission for 2 weeks. Methinks Dan likes his power a little bit too much. We have done our part so why doesn't Dan Andrews come to the table?

More importantly, who in the fed parliament today will give up a safe seat for him?

Also why would the left factions support destabilizing Albo who they got in?

There is no clear path for him to enter federal parliament and there is no appetite from his faction to support a coup.

Then there is the politics of covid, which will be a massive millstone around his neck

No chance this happens

For another thread, but more likely Chalmers will be doing some sounding over the summer.

They're still suffering from the effects of the virus but they're almost certainly not infectious anymore. From the numbers on the Covid Live site it looks like two of them tested positive around October 10 and the other around October 19. The two still in hospital are a man in his 90s and a woman in her 80s, they won't be 'cleared' until they return a couple of negative tests.

It's been 15 days of donuts, 31 days of seven or less and 47 days of less than 15. We could almost certainly bring the last step a week forward but given how long we've dealt with this waiting one more week isn't really a big deal. The rest of the western world is a total shitshow right now, Ireland got in pretty early with their second lockdown and they're now seeing case numbers drop pretty sharply but pretty much the rest of Europe are at best just starting to come down from enormously high case numbers (Belgium, Netherlands) and at worst they're still yet to reach their peak (Italy, Austria, Germany). And the US has surged from 40-45K a day to over 180K today since the start of October and Canada isn't faring much better. Thanksgiving is around the corner too and that's probably going to make things even worse in the US.

I'd prefer the abundance of caution approach for one reason only - we dont go through what we have gone through twice already.

There is a difference between being cautious and being paranoid We have 2 out of the 3 cases remaining in hospital. If you can't open up now then you force 6 million to simply exist, rather than living, out of blind fear. Let the people go. Why force Victorians to uphold their end of the bargain when Dan won't uphold his, especially seeing as it was his, and his governments, mistakes that led us here?

Its a lot easier for him to have an iron grip of fear over the populace, than it is to allow people to be people.

Sorry about my rant, just had a rough last few days.

Forget the politics & get well.

"He's not much of a man really"... that is a stunning theme for a song by Lady Gaga... just for fun..

He had a horrific job and has done it well given the media stints every day for months..

Stood the test of time and never made it sound too hard.. But still he is a trial on the victorian public..

The burden of the 'cant recall' affliction isnt going away anytime yet .... the DHHS Minister nominally responsible is GONE, the DHHS head honcho who has admitted not keeping the responsible Minister informed, whilst reporting direct to the Premier, is GONE.

Its popular theory that the cover up is what does the damage & the 2 most senior public servants in the hotel quarantine fiasco have GONE.

Ms Coate is no headline seeker, there will be more resignations before she tables her report. Mr Phemister will be next to go !!

This issue is slowly slipping into some form of history wars.

If you've maintained your standard of living, your income, if no one that you know and care for has gotten sick or died, you may think the Premier has done a great job.

If the above isn't the case, then you may think otherwise.

Known cases dude

We are looking good, but I wouldn't be sucking each other's dicks until we have another 13 donuts

Remember NSW have had stints of zeros and been whacked with community transmission still

And the difference between us and them is we cannot risk a lock down, they can

Even after all these cases disappearing the tool talks as though anytime in the next 6 months is suddenly a ticking timebomb for Victoria to end up with hundreds of cases a day.

It's a wonder this bloke can gather the courage to leave his house with how petrified he is of something that is trending towards not being around.

All these coworkers of his resigning after Victoria plunges into one of the longest lockdowns in the world because of a shambolic effort in quarantining a virus that until that stage was under control.

But yeah what an amazing job he has done!

Actually the difference is they don’t go into lockdown over a few cases, something you feel Dan will do without hesitation

Why this sudden belief there is heaps of unknown cases out there and if we ease restrictions any further it will suddenly and magically explode?

There is being cautious and there is the pigheadedness of Andrew’s. He is being more defensive than a Buckley game plan.

You really run to every extreme don't you?

It's caution. We are coming from hundreds of unknown cases. But before we take the foot off the pedal we need to be as certain as we can.

You had it easy, after all your biggest challenge was bitching about the cricket club. For those of us in melbourne, we actually don't want to go back to not seeing our families unless absolutely necessary

The sooner you leave this state the better

You guys are still sticking with the Peta Principle of bash Dan. She was Abbott's soundboard when he was not only dumped as PM but dumped by his constituents. Did she recommend Prince Phillip be given a knighthood?

You just don't get it. Attacking Dan personally is counterproductive. He's bounding ahead in the polls. Would win an election comfortably. Yet you keep on with the bash, bash shit.

To paraphrase a well known saying " Political insanity is saying the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”

Lol, cos yeah that was my biggest challenge

Lucky there were no cops at the cricket last few weeks, they could have made Dan tens of thousands of dollars in fines.

But that’s alright, some sheep will continue to abide by strict mask rules and abusing anyone not wearing one outside on their own...

You dont think masks are necessary?

So you disagree with your mate that Dan will step aside and actually accept responsibility for the damage he has caused?

If he dumped his final captains call and actually heeded to the public health advice which he is now ignoring he’d probably add 20% to his approval rating

You dont think masks are necessary?

Outdoors, hell no and the CHO agrees, buts it’s Dans captains call that he won’t let go of.

The entire excuse was due to high levels of community transmission which has been non existent now for over a month and no new cases for 15 days, it seems completely stupid to keep the current mask rules.

Every other state has managed with 10-15 cases daily and still didn’t have mask rules and no major outbreaks.
