We'll see, they need a reason to keep the lockdown going now the reason they did it is a false negative

Do you think they'll cancel the lockdown extension?

the idea that they would lock down any longer than they think is needed to avoid a breakout is ****ing mind-numbingly stupid. If you've ever known anyone who's worked for or consulted for government and you think they are happy to sabotage their own economy you're a *******. Almost everything is about the $$$, the Facebook moron shit about Premiers or whoever wanting to **** up your civil liberties and **** the economy for fun is just entirely the dumbest shit ever.

There is still 67 cases.
it won’t end early but I don’t expect it to go past next week now.

Issue with Pfizer is supply to an extent (in terms of why it’s not offered for over 50s) but it’s also logistical. It has much more stringent storage standards (i.e. much lower temperature required) than the AZ vaccine.

This is one of the main reasons that some vaccination hubs are still AZ only. Some places are simply not able to support it.
Pfizer can be stored at fridge temperature for almost a week with no significant degradation.

We'll be in lockdown longer than other states would do it due to this governments continual incompetency and they won't want the embarassment of admitting they got it wrong. So I agree, we won't be getting out of lockdown early even though results late today showed they jumped at shadows

I guess the alternative would have been to assume all positives are probably really negatives and not do anything?

So when you heard the story of these freakish transmissions you thought 'wow, this is crazy, but totally believable' or would you think, like many of us, 'this makes zero sense' and maybe do some urgent retests?

And then if I made some rulings based on these false positives I would amend the rulings as there is no need to keep the lockdown going.

Then states need to grow the nuts and push back at Scomo and allow the Astra Zeneca for anyone that wants it, as you say it's made here, surely they can get the process happening faster and get more out there, you know as well as i do he hates any bad publicity, point in case with the handout ( i'm glad he has done it BTW), 2 days ago talking tough, as soon as the bad publicity hit changed his tune.
Do you want politics to overrule science?

The TGA makes that call, not Scummo.

Fridge temperature as in -20ish.

But fair call, I'd forgotten that the whole -70 thing had been relaxed.

They don't know how many people are going to get infected because of the amount of contacts and incubation periods etc. You can't guess accurately what is going to happen in week with 10,000 contacts and other randoms. If the results in the coming days are low positives that's actually good news. What the **** is wrong with you?

Cold chain issue was always bullshit.

They been freezing sperms and germs and sending them around the country at lower temps than pfizer for 20+ years.

Neds first response that the Feds control it, that is why i replied like that, then he changed and said it was TGA.

So is Astra Zeneca suitable for everyone one or not ?

My idea was for pfizer to be used in hotel quarantine as you have all ages in there, and it's only 3 weeks between doses i believe, and they have kept Astra Zeneca away from under 50 for some reason, Ned then said wouldn't be enough Pfizer for under 50, if everyone can take Astra Zeneca then give it to those outside of quarantine who want it, don't hold back on the who can get it when it seems a lot of people are refusing for what ever reason.

Look, I have every bit of empathy for those in charge given these are tough decisions and I wouldn’t want to make them.

But they’ve panicked, likely due to what happened last year. It’s time for Professor Sutton to find a different role and some fresh eyes to take a look at this. Somebody who is not carrying the scars of 2020.

Feds or TGA?

My bad, it wasn't the tga who advised this, it was the ATAG (which is under the federal Dept of Health)

Normally the tga rules on all therapeutic goods, bit ATAG was created just for covid.

Extra week beats the **** out of an extra month or three. Smart business owners understand this too.
