Vic How would you rate Daniel Andrews' performance as Victorian Premier? - Part 4

Doesn't mean a thing being in the public eye.

That's not my point though, pretending like it could never happen because it's Hillary Clinton is silly.

I know you guys don't like skynews, fair enough, watch who you please, but Louise Staley a frontbencher was on, interviewed and asked why they are asking these questions, she clearly says they are asking these questions because Andrews should be getting a normal MP salary and Merlino should be on Andrews salary.

At no point did they give any of the horrid rumours any life, in fact, even defended Andrews.

And everything I have seen of O'Brien has shown him to be a moron, I would trust him as far as i could throw him.

It was basically a scripted "interview" between an LNP staffer (and wife of national party leader) and an LNP shadow minister.

But if the point of the questions is to find out why he's still on the Premier's salary and the acting Premier isn't, then what does answering these questions achieve:

- What time did it occur
- Where did it occur
- WHo was home
- Were the police called.

How many times has a boss ever asked anyone for specific details like this about an injury which has kept them off work? It's ludicrous.

And they do mention the rumours in that "interview" and the questions lead people to draw inferences which are based on nothing. It's clever because stupid people fall for drawing those inferences, but it's still obviously stupid and wrong.

Here’s a side question I saw on Twitter.. if Gladys or Mark McGowan broke their back next week and took 3 months leave without really hearing from them during that time, would they be copping the same backlash as Dan? Would people still be “trying” to find holes in stories?

My take away from this question is - is it a trust thing rather than conspiracy theories? Has he burnt trust?

Sure but places like regional Victoria haven't had a case since January and should be back to pre lockdown rules. Same as places like the Mornington Penninsula or even the outer eastern suburbs if there is no cases near them

If fact you could probably use the 10km or 25km rules more effectively by using it to define the rule settings. If councils have no cases or exposures sites within that limit you should be able to open up further

They tried locking down suburb by suburb last year and it was a complete and utter disaster. It is not feasible.

Probably.

What if it happened to Scomo? Definitely.

Also, MightyTiger needs to answer the following questions. I'm not suggesting anything, but if he answered the questions, it would solve a lot of problems.

a) Where was he when the chicken poo was delivered to Punt Road?

I need specific locations and sworn affadavits to his whereabouts.

Suburb by suburb with gaps in between was always going to be a disaster. But outer south and eastern Melbourne should be on regional settings as cases haven't been near them

Scomo would be copping a smashing. But he’s burnt a lot of trust.
And there we have it.

Wherever some like it or not, for a significant group of people, Dan has either has never had, or no longer has, credits in the bank.

Believing the conspiracy theory is a step above, but no surprises that there is a disbelief of the facts as put out by the government.

Trying to not catch cooties from girls in the playground. Also probably playing marbles, dang marbles were such a cool thing back in the day, they still popular amongst the kids?

The only people asking the questions are unhinged QAnon types, Sky News and LNP ministers, including the opposition leader who then didn't read the response from Ambulance Victoria.

I don't think there's any trust lost from most of the state, just some people who never trusted him.

And yes, I think Sky would get stuck into McGowan and No, I don't think they'd get stuck into Gladys. For obvious reasons.

I'm convinced their attacks on Andrews are actually not about Vic politics, but more about trying to send a signal to other states (Qld and NSW in particular) that the ALP is dodgy in Vic. Everyone in Vic thinks this conspiracy stuff is garbage.

no, you squibbed it. Saying you dont believe it, BUT you would be naïve to dismiss it is pathetic. You're saying its probably true without the guts to say it outright. At least have the balls to own your beliefs
Sorry I may have worded it incorrectly, I am saying to simply dismiss something like that from happening is naive, not that exact thing, my apologies i didn't word what I wanted to say properly. And I flat out don't believe it, but thank you for assuming what my beliefs are.

cranbourne had cases, as did chaddy

I did want the answer to the question of what infections would have been stopped by 25 km radius. This outbreak has given data to study let’s use it
It is kind of a dumb question with a pointless answer, and you cannot learn anything by studying the data.

There are 70 cases in the outbreak, a significant number of those were known close contact in isolation during the infections and further number were people were infectious after the 5 km and 10 km travel limit were enforced. You are left with 10, maybe 20 cases to which you might review the case data for. You cannot learn anything from studying the movements 10 or 20 people over a couple of days. Any observations you might make are indistinguishable from just random noise.

The 25 km limit is crude but if you're wanting to restrict movement to restrict transmission, it's probably better than the alternatives. As has been pointed out, the listing of suburbs doesn't work as Melbourne is too integrated and the same for councils - most people wouldn't know the name of their council or where it starts and ends.

Fair enough, i just had a look at the current exposure site map and Chadstone is the furthest east. If your council area is 25km away from there i think settings should be relaxed further. The arbitrary Melbourne/regional line is over the top.

It should also be used to prevent state wide lockdowns, if you are say 100kms away from an exposure site the settings should never be changed

Cmon sluggy.. you’re not helping yourself.

Brothels now open too 100 people too.
Doesn't take long legally to confirm the lock down though

there is a reason for the lag in hitting restrictions, and the lag in removing them

its because (outside where legal instruments are involved) business complained early on that they need time to gear down/gear up.

remember with some equipment you have shutdown protocols that need to be followed (and these take time). Retailers and restaurants also wanted a buffer so that they could stock and prepare for sales

Or reopen as soon as safe so businesses that don't need long lead time can at least get cracking.

Mate, I think it is that a lot of people want to take him down. The LNP is absolutely using whatever media outlet will support them in this pursuit.

and that disadvantages small business who dont have the automation and the footsoldiers of the big boys

its either 0.5 a day or a day, and it allows all businesses to compete on a level playing field

Just one word Danny, please. Or even a grainy bit of video from a mobile phone. He's clearly got brain damage and can't speak, otherwise he would
