As a telephone counsellor for an organisation that deals with men in crisis (most of whom are in tears and having no idea why their spouses/partners left them).

Are you referring to those selfish egotistical males that end up murdering their wives/partners because they can't come to terms that it's happened
to them. "After all I have done for her", heard that excuse before?

Real men move on !!

I gathered those with nothing intelligent to say would attack the person not the issue. Case rested.

I am bemused by the amount of posts I have read here recently and in the past about "being a man" and "not sooking" etc. Well congratulations, you are the exact people that either make or will make the worst fathers.

As a telephone counsellor for an organisation that deals with men in crisis (most of whom are in tears and having no idea why their spouses/partners left them), perhaps, do you think they want to be told not to sook or cry?

What has this got to do with football? I say, good on any footballer who has the guts to cry openly and show true emotions. When you bag footballers who shed tears you do nothing more then re-inforce "the supposed stereo-typical tough male image." These guys are supposed role models for the younger generation. Maybe if AFL footballers are allowed to shed some tears, the younger generation and especially boys may think "it's OK to show I'm hurting."

All I can say is shame on those who denegrate true emotion. You cannot show compassion for another, yet you no doubt expect compassion when you're down.
when these blokes in tears are talking to you on the phone ...are they sitting on the bench of an AFL team ???

******** you're a nasty piece of work.

OK YOU'RE GAY, WE ALL GET IT!!

Way off the mark as usual rawbrain. But guess what, I am such a nasty piece of work that I actually associate with some gay people. They are among my friends and work colleagues. And guess what again, they are mostly intelligent, funny, friendly people, quite normal really, some even come to the footy with me. And have another guess, gays work in all walks of life, professions, trades, sales, sport, labouring jobs and on the factory floor. I'd be surprised if you did not have to deal with some on a daily basis.

People are people are people.

One more thing, none of my friends exhibit any of the intolerance, bigotry or sheer paranoia that is evident on this thread.

But as reason obviously has no place here. I await the hysterical response.

Wouldn't happen with me. I'd thrash the little bastard so much as a kid, if he ever snapped his arm on feild he'd still be playing.

You'll be going to hell as well then.

Not as funny and intelligent (nor as good looking) as a heterosexual like me though.

Neanderthals and Metrosexuals co existed until sometimes in the late 20th century when the Metrosexual become the dominant species. Unfortunately we are living through an era where the extinction of the Neanderthals is almost inevitable. It will be a sad day when that happens.
