If you could pick a defender, midfielder and forward for your club, who would you choose?

If we get a tall forward up front we can afford to be more flexible with our talls. IMO Hurn will be devestating over the next 10 years with his kicking off half back.

Midfield.
Hard choice

Want someone who can play both an inside and outside role to help balance the midfield.

That narrows it to:
Ablett, Goddard, Cooney, M Murphy, Pendlebury, Selwood, Rioli, Rich and Swift.

Would take just about any of these but I would actually lean towards Swift at this stage. With 10+ years of football in him, he should be a more flexible option than Selwood and find bigger numbers of damaging possesions than Rich or Rioli.

Forward line

Tippet
Monster ruck/forward you can build your team around. The reason I would take him over Buddy is that he is better "structurally" due to being a marking target and having a more reliable temprement.

Bock is a superstar.

Consistently shuts down the oppositions best forward, while assisting his teammates and also racking up 20+ quality, damaging possessions of his own.

Watch last years final when you beat us, those periods of time we couldn't get the ball past the centreline - we were missing the drive that Bock provides.

Backline hard choice - Will go for youth, take a punt on a developing talent in Tayte Pears

Mid - Selwood would be nice. Maybe a Steven Hill or Rioli to give us a different look.

To the future would love a David Swallow, actually would love him now future great of the game.


Foward - Lance Franklin or a Jack Darling

Darren Glass - would have picked Scarlett but Glass is a little younger and almost just as good.

Gary Ablett - Ablett or Judd. I'd be equally happy with either.

Matthew Pavlich - in the top 3 centre half-forwards and can just as easily go into the midfield.
