Are Carlton going to drop away from here?

You'd have to say this game against Sydney is a non-negotiable because it's pretty unlikely they are going to beat the Dees next week IMO and Essendon are capable of beating them in a fortnight as well. Carlton just HAVE TO beat the Swans tomorrow night otherwise their draw is probably going to see them fall multiple games behind the top 8 and that's a bad position to be in going into the bye.

If they were to lose the next 3 games then they'd essentially have to win 8 of their final 10 games to qualify for the finals because I reckon 12.5 wins just gets you into the finals in this 23 game season but 13 might be required, in which case they would have to win 9 of their final 10 games. That just seems like mission impossible, particularly when they have to play teams like Collingwood, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, St Kilda in their final 10 games of the season.
We aren't making finals this year regardless of tonight's result :(

Last 7 games, only beaten Division 2 side West Coast.

Last night was deplorable, Swans can hardly muster a senior side given their huge injury list yet Carlton was at full strength and dished up that tripe

Yes, it does look like mid April is where Blues drop away

Carlton need 1 thing.

A goal kicking coach who can get the forwards to kick like AFL standard players.

Its a freaking comedy circus out there.

When McKay launched another set shot OOB's the footage showed Voss snapping around in his chair looking at someone behind him. Foward coach? Kicking coach?

McKay and others need to go get hypnotised or something. Mentally they are spooked every time they have a set shot. Its bizzar

I'm loving this so much! They were so loud and cocky on here in the preseason. Now it's a ghost town aha

Would’ve made finals if we just remained at the same level. That is done now.

We have regressed a shed load and not many picked it.

Melbourne are a good side though, let’s not act like this one wasn’t expected.

At all levels, coaching, admin, recruitment, on field they are the new basket case of the league. Why would you want to play for them as many wanted a couple of years ago.
Cerra must be wondering.

The draft year they got curnow, mckay and weidering it was clear they went key position instead of midfields and that has not worked .....lol could have had Oliver instead of weidering
Carlton are on a different plane of existence when it comes to high draft picks, particularly the first overall. Plebs like you and I will never come close to understanding how to throw those picks away.

In the same vein of the 2022 version, Carlton started the season well this year (with some wins over mostly bottom 6 teams) and are now about to embark on a run of some pretty tough games with Brisbane (4th) at Marvel, Bulldogs (10th) at Marvel, Collingwood (1st) at the MCG, Sydney (11th) at the SCG, Melbourne (2nd) at the MCG and Essendon (9th) at the MCG to come over the next 6 weeks.
