At least next week we can't lose. Off season we all get excited by trades and drafts so we have something to look forward to.

I’ll be relieved once Richmond lose. I don’t want another f***ing spoon.

Beyond that I am looking forward to:

- AFLW we might just win silverware. Get around it.

- The Syd and celebrating X and Sheez. Hopefully they tie which would be the best result.

- I don’t mind the draft, hate trade eon.

Really not looking forward to the relentless feel good stories talking up our preseason. Words are hollow, only actions matter.

I think most passionate North fans are pretty well fried, so a break is welcome. Come next weekend though, I'll probably lament there being no game.

But now I can focus on Sheffield Wednesday doing their best North impersonation and finding all sorts of ways to lose as they fight to avoid relegation from the championship again.

Go the owls! Adopted them as my team due to the kit back in the mid to late 90s when I spent some time in the UK. Horribly timed decision- it would be like choosing north as your afl team in around 2019.

I’m just glad then don’t have relegation in the afl!
