Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Maiden post enjoyed reading all your opinions over a long period of time. let's face it Ivan is a major upgrade on what we have, he is mobile competitve can take a grab, who still has scope for improvement. so welcome to punt road Ivan .

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Have to say, not often you read the comments Crows fans have said regarding a departing player. And it's not just on this thread, they have been talking like this all week on their board.

Sounds like he is a top bloke, and also the competitor we need in the ruck.

Don't expect him to be a world beater, but if he gives Cotch and Dusty half a chance of getting first touch on the ball, Judd and Murphy may find round 1 a little tougher than in the past.

Also one thing that is nice to see, finally getting a few angry bastards in the club. King, Martin, Vickery, and now Maric (faux aggression don't count Jackson).

Quiet agree... :thumbsu: ... and you can toss in Rance...morris...tucky...cotchin's hardness at the ball as well...

Just spent some time on the Crows board reading 5 pages of their posted farewells to Ivan not Ivan...

Very humbling...positive...warm...send off for ivan...if that alone counts for anything i think the tigers have picked up a very special player...

Very buoyed by this trade...as well as morris... and am looking forward to 2012 rd 1...

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Hey Stig, does the club feel that Ivan is an upgrade on Graham?

Or has it have to do with competition for the top spot?

I'm interested to see from which direction our club is coming because I have some stats here.

Angus Graham 2011 Season
Age - 24yrs 5mts
Games - 14

Weight - 102kgs
Hitouts - 23.6 hit outs per match

Kicks - 4.6 per game
Handballs - 5.8 per game
disposals - 10.4 per game
goals - 0.4 per game
tackles - 4.6 per game
I50's - 1.7 per game

Ivan Maric's 2010 Season
Age - 24yrs 9mts
Games - 21
Height - 200cms
Weight - 102kgs

Graham's better :( Dear lord...

the problem was those 23 h/o went to his feet and nowhere near our blokes!

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Good pick up annd payed about the right price, anylower and i would have been worrying.
However, i just went to AFL website and looks like renouf went for a similiar pick. Is there any reason we were so set on maric and not renouf? in my opinion id much rather renouf!

renouf is mark blake mk ii!

All well and good, but there is one vital stat that is missing and it is the most important one too. Hitouts to advantage. Maric would have Gus well and TRULY covered.

Our first player of Croation lineage since Marc Dragicevic!

Haere Ra
Played three games of cricket with Dragga.

I heard a rumor that he could play. So too Lids. Which obviously puts you in a similar category Tug!

Not me mate.
I am hopeless. Dragga made 103not out, 150 not out, and 103 in the three games we played in 2010. Brad ottens played 4 games, and was OK but wasn;t nearly as good. Both ripping blokes though and totally great to have around the team and have a beer with afterwards. Really embraced the concept of playing shit cricket with hacks like me.
Dragga was fun to watch. Put one ball over our clubrooms. Nobody has done that before.
My god he couldhit the ball.

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Apparently Jimmy Bartel is an absolute gun batsmen as well.
Played a few games for Collendina which is an Ocean Grove 'suburb' across trhe river, but we like Collendina, but hate Ocean Grove, and was very handy indeed. Made a ton off about 40 balls in A grade and played against our As in the GF two years ago andmade 40 odd before getting out.
Can play.

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

Welcome to tigerland Ivan "drago" Maric!!

Hopefully our clearances can improve, with some ball going the way of cotchin, martin, foley , tucky and the rest.

That the thing about Evaarn, he makes everyone walk a bit taller.
I'm sure Hardwick & your midfield will be feeling pretty happy tonight.

We won the premiership. Otto and Dragga both came to the Mad Monday. Dragga's version of the winning run in slo mo is down in folklore.
Anwyay, off topic, I am loving the Crows supporters and their support of the big Croat. Shows what an impression he made.

Re: Welcome To Richmond Ivan Maric

WELCOME TO TIGERLAND IVAN.

I am/was probably one of the more critical people who didnt want ivan at tigerland,Thats not because of anything personal but thought we could get a better ruckman later on. And also because of the price/pick we paid.

I would of been happy if we had gotten ivan for a 3rd pick or a fringe player swap. On his past performances Ivan doesnt look like much of an upgrade but I REALLY DO HOPE HE PROVES ME WRONG.

Lets hope UPG & A few other posters who have been so excited about ivan are right and he becomes the player and more for the richmond football club.

By all reports Ivan seems to be a great guy that gives his all and doesnt give up & always backs up/sticks up for his team mates which is a trait i do admire in a tiger player and by the looks of things we are starting to get a few "Tough Nuts" into the club which is a great thing.

Morris,Maric,Martin,Rance,King,Vickery are all players that have the Mongrel in them that is required to let other teams know that we wont be F****d around with.

Ivan welcome to Richmond Football Club ........... Do Us Proud

But we did. ;)

Only because of the GC/GWS concessions does it mean a high pick in the 30s is seen as a second round pick, in a normal year pick 37 would be a third rounder.

Haere Ra

Drove to Adelaide the night before to watch the Vic v NSW U17 final at St Peters College, with some sons of mates of mine playing, in which Lids also played. Cricket Victoria lost a good'un the day Lids signed up for the AFL draft ;)

Took a few wickets opening the bowling and made an absolutely classy 85 batting at about no. 8

In those days, Dave Warner was the next Warney and a handy middle order bat :)
