There's going to be a lot of trades this offseason. If it goes ahead this will be one of many. I think the club needs to hold firm and offer around pick 15 for Izak. He's out of contract so we should pay fair value but not overs. I hope we aren't overpaying him as well.

That is true, but I feel our best 22-26 types are staying for at least the next couple of years. Fairly confident TT/FOG will be Crows for life.

Will be devastating if Berry/Soliglo/Rachelle leaves.

Rachelle and Soligo extended at first possible opportunity and still have 3 years on the list at which time you would hope we are a regular top 4 candidate for years to come likely enticing to remain.

Berry is a VIC country boy and I see as a Crow for life. Hard not to love this lads approach.

I doubt we're getting Rankine without it involving our first, which will probably end up around 7.

Calls to offer a mid/late teens pick assumes A - that we can get hold of one of those, Brisbane's first is almost certain to go to GC who are the only club with the picks in the necessary range to trade for it. Not sure what other pick would be available. B- that GC would accept that mid teens pick, and they don't need a player chucked in, they are now swimming in talent. I'm not sure either getting hold of a pick or GC accepting is likely.

If you're stumping up 5 x $800, you have to expect to pay a trade price that's comparable.

Would help a lot if Dawson was played where he's supposed to be played - on a wing Nicks, not in the backlines covering your arse preventing blow outs!!

Whateley is somewhat correct in that the contending teams don't have as their best players an intercept third tall and a forward pocket. We love Laird but he's not amongst the top bracket of damaging mids.

His dad played some games for Port but obviously he holds a lot of fondness for Freo because JHF grew up barracking for Freo, not Port.

mate you have made this same point about a dozen times now - we get it. clearly the club does rate him much higher and will need to pay up in terms of contract and trade collateral to get this done.

Seeing the Suns are rumoured to have offered $650k (and Rankine is worth that), could almost be taken to the bank we'd have to offer ~$800k to pry him out.

Slight overpay for what Rankine brings at the moment, but a top tier small can transform a side, and Rankine looks to be on the borderline of that status at the moment. I'm of the mind that if you love him as a player (as the club does), now is the time to pay up.

Otherwise, this will be the 2020s Pavlich for us.
