Annual flu vax is well established, 65% effectiveness for the following winter (Peter Doherty?) - what is the effective life of covid vaccines ?

We don't know for sure - because simply COVID vaccines haven't been around for that long.

That, in itself, is not sufficient or reasonable justification to not get vaccinated. It is abundantly clear so far however that the possible long term effects of COVID are far less desirable than the possible long term effects of vaccination.

Ol 4-eyes is having a shot at the club now over the JD saga, saying the club has lost control of the situation, and Smoock [spelling?] agreeing with him.
I certainly think the club needed to make a statement on this before club launching today.

I'm not advocating not getting vaccinated, nor why you even raise it when replying to my comments on the life of vaccines, using the annual flu vax as an example.

Why? We have until the 9th to get it sorted

Expect something official on it next week, we are probably exploring all options until then.
There would still be some attempts to get Jack to reconsider his position, as futile as it may be.

Who knows? If it ends up like the flu vaccine, where it's optional, then I think that's a fine long-term solution.

Diseases have been around for centuries, so we've built up a pretty strong immunity as a species. Only have to look at how the bubonic affected the population, for instance, during the black death to see how much better we are off since then.

Who’s four eyes and why do we give a shit what he says?

How much longer can we debate Jack?
The last few lines of this old tune sum the whole sorry saga up.

He's only partially wrong, we haven't lost control because we never controlled the situation.

The AFL made the policy, they will advise on our ability to move him to the inactive list and any salary cap impact that has.

But yeah, we aren't in control of it

IF JD has a CHOICE (his body his choice) not to get vaccinated
THEN why can't his employer have the CHOICE (Their business, their choice) to implement a mandate that all players are vaccinated, and thus not allow JD to play unless he is vaccinated?

You miss the point about vaccinations in your comments above. Why should JD be able to play and go about his life because everyone else in the AFL has been vaccinated? Because his a good player? If this was Brayden Ainsworth I doubt we'd even have this thread!
They do have a choice to sack him and they haven’t…….anything else to add?

It's certainly his choice, and he's chosen not taking a vaccine that literally 95% of the adult population have taken over playing football and helping his team. Then he's claimed that it's because he's "injured" going so far as to engage a crackpot doctor from the other side of the country to prove it. Sorry, that makes him a giant dumbass
Sorry moron, but you are making assumptions, you know, being moronic.
What a dumbass!

Approximately 5,500 deaths and 157,000 hospital admissions are attributed to alcohol consumption in Australia each year, and alcohol-related harm costs the economy more than $14 billion per annum.

It’s pretty clear that we need to stop drinking alcohol as a nation, a mandate should clearly be introduced, especially by the AFL, they are community leaders!

That's 3.5%

Which you can round up to 4%

This isn’t a covid discussion thread. SRP board is that way. Please shut up.

This thread is for Jack Darling discussion. Even then, probably safest to just shut up as well.

Darling cannot play because he's refused a mandated covid vaccine.

The two issues are directly linked to the current situation. As is Darling's veiw on vaccines versus government and employer mandates.

So how do you not discuss covid and vaccines regarding Darling's situation.

Explain that one to us Batman?
