AFLCA Votes

Collingwood v Richmond

10 Alex Fasolo (Coll)
7 Dustin Martin (Rich)
4 Trent Cotchin (Rich)
4 Bachar Houli (Rich)
3 Ben Sinclair (Coll)
1 Jackson Ramsay (Coll)
1 Adam Treloar (Coll)

I know it's only the one vote, but for a player many thought was going to be quite vanilla, he has been very, very solid in all the games he has played, both he and Sinclair losing development time last year has been costly, because as we saw the other night, if those two, alongside Williams click, we have a very good small defender fleet.

Love what he brings this kid, no fuss and straight to the point.
agreed, one thing old man Mick always used to say was that continuity in the back 6-7 was so important and they are almost a team within a team. I couldn't tell you the last time we had the same back 6-7 in the team for more then 3 consecutive weeks.

In fairness to Maynard, Ramsay has two extra years of development under his belt.
Yeah of course, I'm a Maynard fan so I hope he adds that composure to his game.

Jackson Ramsay was impressive for the Pies in last week's win

COLLINGWOOD defender Jackson Ramsay has been sent to have his knee examined after hurting it at training on Thursday morning.

The Magpies remain uncertain as to the extent of the injury, but expect to know how serious it is later this afternoon.

Ramsay left the track after going down in a tackle and went inside the club before being sent for scans.

The 21-year-old played his best game for the club on Friday night against Richmond and finally looked to be cementing his place in the team after a frustrating run with injury.

Ramsay received a coaches' voteafter picking up 23 disposals and taking seven marks against the Tigers. He was also influential in the final desperate minutes of the game, which Collingwood won with a goal inside the last minute.

Ramsay, the No.38 pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, played the first five games last season before a shin injury kept him sidelined for the rest of the year.

Collingwood's depth has been tested in recent weeks with Dane Swan suffering a season-ending injury, Travis Varcoe sidelined with a hamstring injury, Jamie Elliott not expected to return from a back injury until at least mid-season, and Steele Sidebottom being suspended.

I'm about done with footy for a few years this is seriously insane the run we've had for five years straight..

It's moments like this when all you can do is shake your head. I've got my fingers crossed for him. I really hope he's ok for himself first and then the club. I guess if it is bad then at least someone else gets a chance.

Who in the flying **** is running our training sessions? Heinrich Himmler?

Every single week we lose one on the track - it's just soul-sapping.

I'm not dumb enough to blame 'the Devourer', but surely we go and find someone else, just for good fortune's sake.

Bloody knees.
One player can have them battered on a weekly basis, while another player can make the most innocuous of turns and end up doing severe damage

Look at Swanny last week....bent his knee at an impossible angle that would ruin most knees....Knee survived and his lower leg snapped instead!!!

Can almost guarantee it won't be an ACL or we'd have heard about him being stretchered off but that isn't much of a positive at this point.
Ummm, plenty of players get off the ground without a stretcher when they've done an ACL. I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were you.
