When you're diving or coming into the contest at speed and the player tries to pivot or deflect I think it's reasonable to expect that if you can hold on and not lose your grip, at some point on the way down when you drag them you've got to let go or the momentum will act as a slinging action. Sicily dives forward with momentum, McCluggage tries to work through/deflect him but can't shake him, then Sicily kind of slings him down with one arm pinned. This actually reminds me of the Alex Neal-Bullen tackle that was about 4 weeks in years gone passed. I didn't like him getting crucified for it then and thought it was a good tackle, just unfortunate, but players do need to show a little duty of care with momentum and pinning arms.

I wouldn't mind this being 1 week, but if I've got a choice of the AFL going tribunal and 3-4 weeks or 0 weeks, then I'd rather this be 0 weeks. It's going to happen sometimes.

Got a free kick in favour so not felt to be illegal by umpire.

The umpire was blindsided by the other hawks player. But hopefully that’s the argument the hawks run at the tribunal lol

Yeah, unfortunately Sicily will probably get the 4 weeks that Pickett deservedly received. Oh…..wait….!
Good call w***er, If Pickett deserved 4 De Gropey deserves 6. Pickett got off lightly but De Gropey got off extremely lightly. Sicily is extremely unlucky

We never win at tribunal and that’s before the racism saga.
Appears the rule is don’t tackle because I can’t see how Sicily acts any different once the tackle starts - he cannot control momentum when he is airborne, and there’s seriously people expecting ninja level responses to stop tackle once Sicily hits ground (not to mention it also defeats the point of a tackle). Mccluggage is just too dumb to protect himself.

Yeah I went there. Victim blaming but this is where this shut rule that the afl have ****ed up has led.
