Same as Jonas then is what you're saying?
Which one was Jonas? I don’t recall commenting on it.
And fwiw I think butlers one is also bullshit as far as suspension (which was adjudged as dangerous tackle)

We never win at tribunal and that’s before the racism saga.
Appears the rule is don’t tackle because I can’t see how Sicily acts any different once the tackle starts - he cannot control momentum when he is airborne, and there’s seriously people expecting ninja level responses to stop tackle once Sicily hits ground (not to mention it also defeats the point of a tackle). Mccluggage is just too dumb to protect himself.

Yeah I went there. Victim blaming but this is where this shut rule that the afl have ****ed up has led.

You just can’t pin an arm and sling like Sicily did. But yeah hugh should have protected himself with Sicily pinning one of his arms. Delusional.

It’s all over. We might as well pack it all in and wind the sport up.

I’m absolutely in favour of protecting the head but not at the expense of destroying the fabric of the sport. There was no malice in Sicily’s tackle and that should be the overarching determinant in any sanction.

We are pretty much done.

Actually prefer this being heard at the tribunal where the club can argue the elements/gradings of the incident, rather than having to decide whether or not to take an 'early plea' punishment. It's good to get the discussion out there for everyone as we know things are changing regarding what's allowable and not nowadays ,tackle-wise, so the more examples we have the better informed everyone will be going forward.

If it's 3+, then so be it. If not, great.

What pinned arm both of sicilys arms are around the waist?

No players need to learn how to tackle without slamming heads into the turf. How is mcSuitcase supposed to protect himself when on the side he's slammed down on the arm is pinned under him?
Both arms are free, one is holding the ball, drop the ball and protect the head

I fear Sicily saying something like that if he's allowed to speak on the night, given his comments re. Tassie earlier in the year 🤣

I could understand brissie fans wanting blood, but most are fine. But why are Sydney fans wanting it? They haven't had anyone suspended for a dangerous tackle, or are they now just bastions of the future?

Good call w***er, If Pickett deserved 4 De Gropey deserves 6. Pickett got off lightly but De Gropey got off extremely lightly. Sicily is extremely unlucky
That’s not very nice Fitzey. Unlike you to resort to personal abuse. That’s very hurtful.

Agree about Sicily. His actions were nowhere near as reprehensible as Ozzie’s.

User name checks out.

Maybe I’ve got my Lions glasses on but looks like a pretty clear double action to me. Sicily basically has McCluggage to the ground and then increases the force and drives the tackle in a more downward motion. Think that’s a 3 weeker but with the way it’s gone this year he’ll probably get off on appeal.

As I rewatch I’m wondering why he even completes that second action. Looks unnecessary, but may be because McCluggage is basically sitting on him at that point?

Sydney fans for the most part don't actually know the rules. There are a few exceptions, but it's like talking to somebody in Victoria about the NRL. Nobody has any idea.
