Because its 5 years at 600-650k, it has been from the start; only Sam McClure and mostly South Australian media people (and a few at Port as well) have pushed this 700+k narrative, for example Cornes pushed the figured to 800k+. It doesn't really matter that's there a bit of difference, Port will be fairly compensated. Inflating the figures is pure self aggrandizing.

None of these are SA. Gtfo who has even said it's 600k? I've never heard it unless it's came from David King who's on fire for telling the most bs right now.

Why be so condescending? I'm only going by the figures that I've seen reported. Have you seen the contract or are you basing your figure to best suit the narrative you wish to follow?
I wasn't trying to be condescending and I apologise if it came across that way, but I always felt it was always fairly clear cut. South Australian journalistic sources and McClure (including a few bandwagon journalists) have been on the high side, while the rest, not necessarily Victorian-centric, have stated its the 600k+ mark. Journalistic bias is rife, as a South Australian, I assume you are aware of it, as are Victorians etc, I live in NSW, so I stay out of it all. As I previously stated, the narrative doesn't bother me much as it doesn't affect whether Port will be fairly compensated or not, I'm just a random BF poster. At the end of the day, I just want my club to get a decent footy player.

Just for fun why don't you mention the 5yr 700 - 750k a year offer North have tabled for Polec as a part of valuation!

Why? I specifically mentioned where North rate him. Those sums are bandied around already.

Hmm, staff writers using McClure's figures (a known ambulance chaser), a new journalist taking Cornes' figures and a random footy site is what you got. Most people are just mimicking McClure's figures without doing research, which is most journalists nowadays. In may not be purely SA in entirety, but relying on McClure and Cornes for your figures isn't good.

Like most North people, I don't care what King thinks.

Nick Bowen has reported 600 x 5.

Considering Bowen is a North man and gets a lot of inside info, you should be working off this, not the ambulance chaser. He's not a North or McClure sycophant, he says it as it is.

There are a few others, but pay-walls and all that.

Brayshaw has also rubbished the 700k amount as has Carey and a few others.

In the end it doesn't matter, everyone will get what they want, which is the most important aspect.

Has told Port he's leaving according to Kane Cornes.

That reference has gone over my head.

Look, I could make up some bullshit but the pure fact of it is I meant to type Kane. I appreciate the like though.

Yeah ok but Cornes is also an insider at Port he'd know Polec personally but whatever.

It won't matter in a year's time anyway. You'll get something decent out of North and North will get a decent player.

Agreed on that, North get a very good winger and still get to take Tarryn Thomas who's worth a top 10 pick and Port (if we get that pick 10) have the picks to take both SA lads (Hatley and Rozee). In a way North don't loose anything Port will have 2 top 10 picks in a supposed super draft.

I've been informed by a source close to the issue that the lions would absolutely take polec in the PSD if they got the chance.
But do they have the cap space to do so if polec says his contract price for 1 year is $1.2-1.4m)? North can afford to front load extremely heavily...

Filth is right though. The source is me

Have their been any details of the deal made public? What exactly did the AFL tick off? What is his role at Puma? Is it a conflict of interest seeing that Puma is Richmond's apparel sponser? All legitimate questions.

On [device_name] using BigFooty.com mobile app

I would assume Dusty is paid by Puma to appear in their advertising campaigns, and gets free gear from them too. They're leveraging his star power and notoriety, to sell more of their product. You know, the same as a lot of athletes and celebrities. Why does he have to have some actual working role at the company beyond that?

As a general comment, why can't AFL players have regular sponsorship and endorsement deals, just like athletes do in any other sport? Why does the club or league have to be involved? Why is it so different for footy players? Why are they apparently only allowed to earn money from their playing contract, and not seek further income and opportunities outside of football?
