Yeah its not a laughing matter, hope he gets some good advice and actually takes it.. Strong stance by the Saints and good on em about time but Im a bit surprised how harsh.. I dont know the full story though.
Gram polarised a lot of supporters but I don't think anyone could have wanted this to happen.

To their credit most Saints supporters in this thread have been consistent in saying he was an idiot, and I believe some called for him to be sacked.

Why because I defended a player? Oh woe is me the bottom feeders of bigfooty such as yourself view me a tad lower because I defended a player rather than hang draw and quarter him.
Saints need to make that strong stance and it has happenend, good for them.

Wouldn't say this has anything to do with the club. In fact they've done well going on the front foot by showing him the door.
Obviously they have had their problems of late, but it's clear they are trying to fix things.
In all seriousness, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
He can play footy, he has obviously been distracted, a move interstate could be just the thing.
First though, the counselling etc from the AFLPA needs to be ramped up, and he needs a lot of support.
Been a good player for us, and while his form was never super consistent, he played very well in the finals.
Was he contracted past this year?
Could be a hefty payout as I'd imagine he'd be on 350-400k a season unless there are stipulations written into his contract regarding transgressions leading to termination of employment or some such jazz.

Why would an AFL player bother? With the money these guys earn, if one tells you to nick off, there's always another one lining up up to have a crack at a chance of flashing their boobs on Brownlow night.
