Are GWS looking to use picks 3, 12, 15, 18 and 19 purely for the draft? Or do they want to get some players in via trade?

Maybe we could upgrade pick 33 or 43 for one those later picks and offer up Byrne-Jones or Bonner?

We genuinely need to trade away a player for 2nd round. Can't see it happening another way.

Hayes, Drew, Bonner, DBJ, Farrell. DBJ with most value in that lot perhaps as an All-Australian and club BnF although he was off it best this year. I know he just resigned but yeah either him or Drew

In all seriousness North have actually done fine out of this deal. So have West Coast. GWS showed up, bent over and handed over the lube to make it work for everyone else, and I salute them for it.
Yeah I think north have done well. What more can you hope for to get for a player that wants out than a similar pick + a future 1st on top. That’s a good deal.

Also west coast, despite people knocking them to get out of pick 2 and the private school vic boys and into hewett territory , whose not far behind, if at all those vic boys plus get another pick. That’s good for them.

Ports given up a lot, but the fact we get future 2nds and 3rds back helps a lot,

In the end rozee butters jhf Bergman sinn to look forward too in our midfield.

I really rate that group of players as a future midfield. High end young talent there.

In your dreams mate, ports have a reputation of trading in good faith & have good player welfare. What message will north send to everyone? We are happy to hold players against their will & we have zero player welfare. We are happy to destroy a young players career.
I thought you vic flogs might have learnt something from Essendon & hawks mess but apparently not.

You guys painting North as the villains for daring to hold onto their own player is really impressive to watch

Jack Graham, JHF, Rioli if all fail the reputation for leaving player dry will be Ports.

Happy for North to send a message of a contract is a contract and we will not be bullied.

To request a trade was Jason's choice, if that doesn't eventuate and it hurts his career still his choice. Zero blame can be associated to North on this one.

The best part of these sorts of threads are when fans of the buying club start realising they may not get the trade done, and then start lashing out at the selling club.

A deal will get done..

No way does JH-F stay at North next year, it is just an untenable situation overall for both him and the other players at the club

North rightfully holding out for a better deal and Port also rightfully are not prepared to give up one of their better young players/assets.

I wonder if GWS can somehow get involved too with their now stockpile of picks and or need to salary cap dump.

Hypothetically North should try see if they can get Lachie Whitfield whom GWS are keen to expunge (for some reason)

Whitfield and Port's first rounders this year and in 2023 would actually be a pretty good haul for North..

Without having to skim through pages of bile, what are Port posters suggesting as a fair trade for prying out last years highly rated contracted pick 1 who they have committed to?

I am assuming this year and next years first plus a decent player? And no that doesn't mean Bonner.

Yes the indigenous player that is moving to be closer to his recently widowed mother is going to be picked up in the PSD by the club that has a coach on suspension due to racism claims

File that under things that will never happen
A club competing for a premiership may take the risk if they needed a small forward but would have to pay him the money we offered him. No one underneath us would draft him

By sunday you'll know for sure if any players are being added
After that logistically there just isn't enough time

Watch AFL greenlight port trading a F1 and F2
Then it will get done for F1,F2, 8 and 33 being the steak and potatoes of the trade

Not sure we want 33, but agree with the jist of where you are going.

Can you promise not to make finals next year, trade would be easy then!

I think I got one to agree that Butters and an early second rounder would be an acceptable starting point before the Versailles treaty got abandoned.

If i was Jason Cripps Id be going to the AFL about getting a top3 protection NBA style on ports future 1st

Sorry but that’s unrealistic, they aren’t trading a player of Butters quality. It will be 2 firsts and a decent player, not a gun. Duursma has said no but Burton said no too first and Port demanded him

Port are seemingly, not rightfully, going to everyone of their assets and they aren’t having a bar of it.

If you could move 33 to a future 2nd, then do 2 future 2nds to GWS for 1 of their 1sts, then do that first to Saints for Hunter Clark.

8, F1 and Clark would get it done ....

Yep but there’s another Adelaide club, who has a pick before yours, that I’m sure would be rubbing their hands together, at the thought of Jnr on their list.
