Traded Jesse Hogan [traded with #65 to Fremantle for #6 and #23]

Can't trade a future first mate. Hence why 11 and future 2nd is our best current offer apart from 11 and 23.

the thing is, thats barely an offer. its mind boggling to think that you would even offer it. its an offer that basically says 'hmmm stuff it lets throw a hail mary and insult the other club in the process'. we should have replied with demanding 3 first rounders because thats about as far away as your first 'offer' was. mind boggling

That is surprising. Pick 4 should be worth so much more than 11 and 24, but that's a conversation for another time.

Now where were we.. ah yes, those pesky Dockers trying to facilitate a trade that Melbourne, Fremantle and Jesse all want to see get done. sheesh. How insulting.

i love how freo fans love talking about equivalents. how about you hand over your first pick and we can talk about equivalents.

Our first is 11. So you want 11 for Hogan?

We can only offer what we have. It’s a first offer, you’ll get your 2 1st rounders. Relax

By the end of trade period Melbourne will be kicking themselves they didn't açcept this offer.

freo is the common link between all the trade delays. asking for overs for neale, then wanting unders for hogan. what a rabble of an administration. Have fun relying on taberner to kick you some goals. Hogan will kick 7 on you guys :)
If a rabble is trying to get the best deal for your club, then I'd take the rabble everyday. I can't imagine you go to purchase a vehicle and the salesman says that will be 30k and you say done instantly....if so, I'd suggest you should let someone else deal on your behalf. The media and the instant gratification generation have no concept of patience and FWIW I do think hogan is worth 2 first round picks and if freo want him enough, they will pay a fair price.

Allen and Brander have potential but that's all at the moment. Hogan would make a huge difference from day 1. The offers I'm seeing for Hogan from Fremantle are insulting

Insulting?

It's called the market value, if you don't like the offer feel free to counter it, not accept it, convince Hogan to go to another club or just chuck a tanty that we won't match it.

Melbourne requested 2 first rounders. Just like we coughed up for Lever last year. Just like Treloar. His currency is definitely 2 first rounders. Pick 5 and 6 is probably too high but 5 and something in the teens is about right. To offer pick 11 and a 2nd rounder in a years time is purely antagonistic and have wasted many clubs' time.

Fremantle will do what is best for Fremantle, as this is trading .....there is no precedent that we have to follow.

Plus wasted your time ....I must of missed the bit where we promised to meet your trade demands to make Hogan one of the all time high trades.

Trouble is Melb have counted thy chickens before they hatched, if we land Lobb and have significantly improved our mid range draft position this year ...most Freo fans will be pretty happy with that.

Melb don't have the currency to get May ...that would be Melbourne's problem - partly caused by paying the high price for Lever. Shop Hogan somewhere else or move another asset if you want May ...otherwise suck it up and work out who is not getting game time next year.

Freo demands pick 2 for a 21-year-old first round pick who hasn’t set the world on fire but is pretty good. No questions asked, fine.

Melbourne demands pick 5 and 6 for a 23 year old RS winner who has a track record that matches the best forwards in the competition and it’s unfair in their rating.

Cool double standard bro

It's not double standard, you're meant to try and improve your team's position.

Freo would have kept Lachie Weller if pick 2 wasn't part of the deal, it had Board backing. They correctly surmised that the PR value to Gold Coast would be greater than a pure football playing list decision. Brave decision as if he'd stayed he could of just walked to the GC in the draft and we would have got zip. Big risk/reward but well played by us.

Freo will happily keep Neale and back in convincing him ...unless Brissy make an overwhelming offer, if he leaves we get a top 5 next year ...lots of good West Aussies next year so it's basically not even a risk.

The only rating on Hogan that matters is what Freo are prepared to give up. The funny thing is the desperation to trade him on here and on your board ...you guys absolutely know he is a risk, you have an over stacked forward line and that you need a good deal to satisfy a now much tougher Gold Coast (who also have the back up of a compo pick).

Compare this thread to the Neale thread....perhaps you should of traded him last year.

TLDR: Sucks to be you

11 and a future second is comparable to taking a shit on a piece of paper and sliding it across the table.

Maybe you do get 2 Alan Bonds in your life ...you never know.

Why is it insulting? You get to keep Hogan which apparently according to your fans on here absolutely fantastic.

I'd love Brissy to say only a 2nd rounder for Neale, we could then just very easily say no thanks, pretty sure Neale would understand and we keep Neale for a year with a chance to convince him to stay - brilliant! Bloody Brisbane and their reasonable offer.

Just say no thanks not enough and move on ....you still have time to go deal with all the other clubs.

Unless of course it is Melbourne driving all of this and just getting shitty because this is the only shot in the chamber....surely not.

you've got the 'trying to improve our clubs position' line but at the end of the day our clubs will have to work together in the future and shafting clubs, players and their managers isnt the way to run a footy department.

whoever decided to verbalize that offer should be given the boot. no offer would've been preferred.

What a crock , Essendon had this supposedly bad reputation at the trade table for a few years and then they go whack whack whack whack in the last 2 years , so what happened to all the bad blood you think is so important to avoid

Who is to say that an official offer has even been made, it is all hyperbole and ego from too many Eastern States journos and player agents leaking out rumours and gossip to fill out a week and a half of trade week. One journo in the West said no offer has been made yet. it reminds me of Anchorman and the move to 24 hour reporting with Ron Burgundy, someone a couple of years thought it would be a good thing to create trade radio to run every day when really not a lot happens.

Melb: What's your starting offer? 2 first rounders & future 2nd?

Freo: No

Melb: 2 first rounders?

Freo: No

Melb: Are you even interested? Just make a satrting offer?

Freo: I think it would be better if we start at us making no offer

Melb: WTF?

My god brain cells aren't plentiful out west.

Here's another way to look at it. Get Bell or whoever in a room negotiating instead of grandstanding in the media. Work with the club toward a central agreement. Give up the notion that a club can offer a Godfatheresque deal to a player, and then pretend that a player worth that large a chunk of the salary cap ISN'T worth picks/players of actual value. Its pretty clear the club is trying to do right by Jesse, and has already indicated it will take unders to help out. Instead of looking at that conciliatory middle, accepting you will get the highest paid player on the list for less than market value and graciously making it happen, this joke of a club seems to think that suggests weakness and tries to turn the screw.

And if that is too hard, then piss off and we'll keep a KPF who will kick another 50+ goals next year, making sure that the available post-career opportunities are plentiful and enriching, giving him long weekends to head home so he might sign on again.

And if Freo still want him next year and still can't fathom a fair trade, then we'll send him off to GC in the draft, because he is STILL not a FA.

Well fair enough.
We could do 11 and future 1st for Hogan and their future 3rd.

I think they’re waiting and salivating on pick 5. I hope we trade it to Adelaide and get a bunch of picks and offer Melbourne their 2 first rounders that they demand. Something like 13 and 16.
I wouldn't be trading out pick 5 in this years draft unless it for Hogan.

It's called getting the ball rolling and letting the shuttle negotiations start. Someone had to get the ball rolling, they fired the first shot, your mob will reject and then freo will finesse the offer

If that offer of 11 and 2019 2nd is legit, that is unbelievable that Freo thought that was a good offer to kick things off on.

I mean, there is always posturing/ambits made before every trade, but that offer is basically a slap in the face.

I think especially seeing that Freo offered 2 x 1sts for a 21 gamer (36 goals) Cam McCarthy back in 2015.
They have been chasing Hogan for 5 years and he is a far superior player to what McCarthy ever was.
If they were willing to offer that for McCarthy, then surely Hogan nets them 5 and 11 no questions asked.

Dees need a big bodied defender to have a tilt at a flag in 2019. If only we had a gun 23yo KPP that was the AA CHB as a 17yo in his junior year on our list...

Oh wait...

There is no way we trade Jesse for unders when our premiership window is wide open.

Notwithstanding, Freo fans are forgetting something... We’re on trading one of the 1st you’ll be giving us to GC to get May. Next year you’ll still have to trade us your first for Hogan, and we’ll just sign May as a free agent. Net result is the same for us, other than we’ve turned Jessie back into a defender.
Just to be clear May will require a top 5 pick, you wouldn’t want to try and lowball us after screaming at Freo for (rightly) being campaigners.

Freo not doing themselves any favours by knocking back pick 4 for Neale and then offering up rubbish for Hogan after chasing him for years. Dick move

I think GC and Melbourne have sorted out a price and are waiting on Freo to stop being assholes

Comps been waiting 17 years for that. They don’t understand the concept of win/ win

A 23 yr old key forward star being offered in a trade for pick 11 and a future 2nd rounder is NOT market value. Lmao. The term 'market value' is the complete opposite of that trade.
