On football talent, JDG was a good choice. He's a big-bodied and versatile midfielder who can kick goals and win clearances, and he is exactly what we need. This will become painfully evident in the first 6+ rounds of the season when De Goey is on the sidelines.

Unfortunately he has a peanut for a brain, one which seems to be shrinking with each season. The club could not have predicted that he'd become a consistent ****wit.

Collingwood's Jordan De Goey has notified the club that he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.095 per cent after a random breath test in Port Melbourne on Saturday night.

His driver licence was immediately suspended and he has been disqualified from obtaining a licence for the next six months.

Club officials will meet on Monday to determine how this matter will be addressed.

The club will make no further comment on this matter until a decision has been made.
